I think a trick to creating GJM characters is to pretend you're writing an advanced logic puzzle
forget one who always lies/one always tells the truth, we need:
one who sounds like they're lying but is being honest, one who tells the truth about everything except their terrible past, one who lies about everything except what really matters, one who lies in the day and tells the truth at night, one who alternates truth and lies with each incarnation, one who tells the truth while wearing a mask, one who only speaks in questions, one who thinks they're telling the truth but they're wrong about everything, one who lies with their words but tells the truth with their eyes, one who lies to everyone except one special person, one who tells the truth in dreams, one who doesn't even know themselves anymore when they're lying, one who mirrors whoever they're talking to, one who lies once every 100 years but its a BIG one...........etcetcetc
(not specific examples but sure we could make some characters fit!)
saiki when people are in weird situations: well, i don’t really care what they do, as long as its not affecting me.
also saiki: does some weird psychic shenanigans to help them, follows them, solves their problem completely, makes sure they're okay, all without them knowing he helped them or where he is
im so unhealthily obsessed with a gay knight and his stupid slime boyfriend pls send help
Look.
I'm not a religious person. I also do not consider myself an atheist. I suppose I'm agnostic, for lack of a better term.
I do not care about other people being atheists, that's none of my business.
But if, dear follower, you show up in my notes using said atheism to be an antisemitic (islamophobic, hinduphobic, racist, ableist etcetc) asshole you're getting blocked just the same as i would block one of those ultraconservative religious zealots you hate so much. For many of the same reasons.
Did I make myself clear?
when it comes to gojo’s relationship with strength i think it’s best to view it as a ”phantom limb” as opposed to something he desperately wants to be rid of (wrong) or something he values above all else (wrong). gojo was born with strength and has had his identity shaped around his title as ”the strongest”; being strong is as natural to him as breathing. i think the fandom grossly exaggerates how much gojo supposedly hates his strength or loves his strength, even though neither hits the nail on the head. you don’t love your own lungs for helping you breathe. you don’t love having limbs, it’s a given. i think gojo would be miserable if his strength was suddenly stripped away, but that’s precisely because that strength has lived with him for all his life and being without it would be horrifically disorienting. strength comes at a cost and he is well aware of that. his view of it has never been skewed beyond what you’d expect from someone who has never known weakness. gojo likes moments of mundanity. gojo likes youth. gojo likes fighting because it makes use of this ”phantom limb” that he was born with, and probably also because of the adrenaline kick his brain has gotten acclimated to. it feels good. there isn’t much more to it than that
alright, who wants to run away for like a week or two and live on a beach with me
Pete is not a physically intimate person. Throughout the show, whenever he initiates physical contact with someone it's like a practiced behavior - it doesn't feel as genuine as it should. On the other hand, whenever he's touched by someone unexpectedly, he reacts as if it's a threat. In episode 2, we see it with Porsche. Look how he reacts here:
He didn't expect Porsche to touch him. He stops for a moment, he stares at Porsche talking to him, and only once he registers his intent and enthusiasm does he relax and smile back at him. Another moment that has stuck out to me is this one from episode 3:
Do you notice how Pete keeps his distance here? He's the first one to touch Porsche and shake him a little, but it's Pol who goes all in and hugs him. His head is also at a certain distance and doesn't go closer, again, unlike Pol. Every interaction he has with Vegas before he gets caught is an exception to what I'm saying, but it's also not: Vegas is unpredictable and dangerous. He's a Theerapanyakul, so everything he does carries a certain weight, which is why Pete is so, so uncomfortable whenever Vegas touches him. But all of that, of course, changes after the safehouse. Vegas' touches turn soft and straightforward. There's no hidden intention hiding behind them after the pill kiss, and Pete knows it. And it changes him as a person, or to be more precise, brings another side of him out. The knee caress while Vegas mourns the death of his hedgehog is a good example. I could go on and on analyzing all of Pete's touches with Vegas, but I don't think I need to. You all remember them pretty well. I'll end this post with my favourite moment of touch from Pete in the whole show. It's not his almost-caress of Vegas' cheek (twice!) and it's not him caressing Vegas' hand at the hospital. It's this here:
It's the way he clings to him for dear life. It's the way his face is shocked, as if he can't believe what's happening. It's the way he wants to cry, but can't. This moment is just everything to me. Pete is not a physically intimate person. However, potentially, with Vegas he can be.
