Her stomach grew, it couldn’t be helped. It was still unnoticeable by just any passer by but it still brought wave after wave of anxiety. With women being pulled from their homes, dragged away from their families. Women and even children, new born and toddlers being taken and some never returning. 

So Rouge relied on the one thing she was born with, a strength of will unmatched. With hardened eyes she walked the streets, passed marines and when they looked at her? They darted their eyes away. She had a mastery of control at this point, releasing just enough that when they looked her way, they couldn’t help but look away. They were looking for vulnerable, even scared, pregnant women. They would not find that in Rouge. 

She may not have the physical strength to take on the countless men flooding her home, but she had the will. Despite the pain that coursed through her body and the migraines that clawed at the back of her eyes, she will not show the vulnerable woman they expect her to be. Looking ahead, head held high, she will harden her heart to the innocent women and children being dragged away in search of her. She will carry on. At all costs, Rouge will protect the life blooming in her. 

I always hc that Rouge, physically, wasn’t really strong. But she had an intense  Haoshoku/Conqueror's Haki. And an innate control over it. Sort of creating an aura over herself just enough that people darted their eyes away, that she was intimidating enough no one ever really considered her to be the type of women they were looking for.
