ahh yay, i'm so glad you sent me one of these because you're super talented in so many ways and deserve all the compliments!! 😍 apparently i have devolved into doing all of these as bulleted lists because in my heart i am made of lists and do not care that it is not very tumblr-y of me, so here we go:

(1) she's an amazing writer *and* she makes incredible gifs?! how is all of this talent and motivation contained in one person? i don't know, but i am endlessly impressed by you and the quality of your work. i'm so glad i've ended up in multiple fandoms with you and get to keep taking it in! i remember when you were just taking up gif-ing - it was not that long ago and you're already a pro. incredible! 🔥

(2) related to 1, but the fact that you create fanworks for very small fandoms (heck, you are the founder of at least one if not more of those fandoms i think?) means so so so much to those of us in those fandoms. i know i've said it a million times but it can never be said enough: you making gifs for blanchejudith made them *real* for me(us) in a way they weren't before, and i still get kind of choked up thinking about it. you are extremely kind and generous with your time and energy. and even when i am not in a specific rarepair fandom you create for myself, i still feel so motivated and inspired when i see you out there creating for small audiences, and by your fandom philosophy in general. i have been happier as i’ve increasingly adopted a fandom that’s closer to yours. 😉 and you're super supportive of other creators in these small fandoms (i know the comments you left for blanchejudith writers meant so much to them and to me!) i know you're a person whose orbit i will always want to be in, even if our fandom interests aren't exactly the same at any given moment. 💜

(3) i love your photos! all of the food you cook looks amazing! (i guess also because of the photos let's never undersell the photography skills, but i just know the food is indeed amazing) i love knowing you're out there taking photos and cooking and going to gigs and living life. i know i said a lot of stuff about fandom above because i do value what you contribute to fandom so much, but over the past two years fandom has increasingly become about real connections for me - the people are what matter - and i love all your real person stuff.

(4) thank you for teaching me about bread sauce!

(5) thank you for motivating me to watch some truly excellent television - slow horses and for all mankind! appletv should start paying you commission. 😆

Ahhh yay, I’m so glad you did this! 🌈💕 I think I said something along these lines when I did the “how intimidating am I?” meme for you awhile ago, but when I first started following you I thought you were pretty intimidating because you give off Such Cool Vibes (seriously, this is still very much true and part of the “reasons you’re great” of this post—you give off the coolest vibes in the entire fandom tbh 😎), and had made so much of the best content for the fandom when I joined it. And I was soooooooooo excited when you followed me back, cause that was a sign for me that I sort of belonged here. But then beyond that initial affirming feeling, you ended up being so encouraging and kind about so many of my posts, and brought constant enthusiastic energy to this fandom, even (especially?) during times when it really wasn’t very active and it felt like a handful of us were holding it together with duct tape and string. 

I was so impressed by your edits at the time I joined the fandom, but you’ve continued to make ever more wonderful things throughout the time I’ve been here—teaching yourself to gif! 🤯—and writing incredible fic. I love that this show has inspired you to be creative in new ways, and we’re so lucky to benefit from your talent and time and effort.

Finally, I’m pretty sure you’ve said before that you had a similar experience as I did with this fandom helping you to come out of your shell and more fully embrace certain things about yourself in a community that felt safe. (hope I am remembering this right…) You should know that you have absolutely helped make it a space that does that for others—like me—and I am sure I speak for many when I say I am so grateful for all that you do to make it feel that way.

3. favorite line/scene you wrote this year

I don't know if this is actually categorically 'favourite' in terms of turns of phrase or whatever, but this moment in 'Her pet' is one that stays with me: Standing between them, she takes his face in her hands and wipes away the water from his cheeks. “You bear up well, pet." I'm not sure why. Maybe it is how tiny it is, this little moment of care from her that neither of them think twice about. Like yeah probably his eyes were just watering from the pain, but whatever the reason for his tears she just wipes them away without question. Tender? idk

4. total number of words you wrote this year

At time of writing, 65k including active WiPs. The year is not over yet, though! Bring on my summer holidays and the possibility of Yuletide treats!

3. Favorite musical artist / group you started listening to this year?

I think I started listening to Brandi Carlisle this year... I'm kind of scattershot in my musical tastes, but I've enjoyed her work!

4. Movie of the year?

Think I watched Benediction for the first time this year, and that would be it -- but I also really did love Oppenheimer! (Barbie was also a ton of fun, to be clear.)

14. Favorite book you read this year?

Hands down The Remorseful Day, although a close follow-up would be The Hands of the Emperor. Two very different books, very different flavors, but god, one broke my heart in a good way, and both are masterworks, honestly.
