Aqua Air Africa is currently building Africa’s first atmospheric water generating plant in Garankuwa, a surrounding low-income high-density area of the capital city Pretoria (Gauteng province). As part of youth empowerment, the project aims to enhance and uplift the living standard of the local community. Among other inventive means, this is done through decreasing the rate of unemployment by sourcing service providers from the immediate community. Under the 69 Minutes for Mandela tag on 18 July 2018, Aqua Air engaged with local community members and further committed to contributing towards building the local community centre. Aqua Air has become a beacon of hope for the community of Garankuwa and aims to continue exploring initiatives likely to benefit the community in the future.
