In 1993 I was up at 3am watching Baywatch and nearly spit the late night snack out of my mouth when I discovered my Myser production dedicated to my late Aunt Faye was on the most popular show at the time BAYWATCH!!! I painted the piece illegally in Venice Beach when it still was a pavillion and venue to many parties punk bands, ska, dj events. In the 80's it was also home to the most famous quarter pipe in Venice Beach. Powell Peralta, Dogtown, all the pros including Hosoi catching his famous Christ Air. Cops: What do you think you're doing? Me: Doing my job Cops: You know we can take you to jail Me: I know Cops: Well it looks beautiful. Finish it up and if you're still here when the sun goes down we are going to arrest you Me: Ok thank you Cops: Oh we caught some gangsters tagging. Do you want their cans? Me: Yes The cops gave me a garbage bag full of the shittiest Pep Boys auto paint. Gesture appreciated but everyone knows you can't layer Krylon with garbage paint. 29 years ago I never imagined graffiti would inform who I am now as an artist and a survivor of 80's LA's tag banging and gang lawlessness I was lucky enough that my single mother bumped her job up at KFC for $1.25 an hour to working at the LAUSD building 1 block from the infamous Bellmont Tunnels. Yes I was lucky enough to catch one of the 1st pieces done at Bellmont which was a smurf themed piece. I was even too young to understand what it was or what is was for. Im going to say that was 1983-84? I don't consider myself an OG but do consider my mentors from jr high high school who influenced everything I wanted to be including the 1st piece book I saw of SomeOne KGB Defer Hyde Skept and friend Cut Chemist.
