❛ who did this to you? ❜ ( hekate about to end the world lmao )
A FLASH OF GUILT IS the first thing across iovita’s face the second they realize hekate is in the doorway. “ oh, I definitely didn’t mean for you to see this, ” they mumble, terribly aware of her magic buzzing at the edge of their senses like a kicked wasp nest. her anger is as palpable in her power as it is across her face, a sort of fury that makes them light-headed in utter shock.
she’s this angry for them?
for a moment, she’s nothing but colors splashing the inside of iovita’s closed eyelids. gold and obsidian dark. and then they open their eyes again (when did they close them...?) and give her a lop-sided, punch-drunk kind of grin. “ just someone who thinks they’re keeping the peace, or whatever bullshit co- he’s feeding them. ” they turn away, inspecting their face in the mirror with the hand that’s not currently bracing them against the bathroom sink. mottled bruise covers one side of their face, swelling their eye, and blood dyes the edges of their hair red, a steady stream of it still dripping down their cheek and off the line of their jaw. “ seventeen centuries makes them really good at getting the jump on me. ”
a wave of nausea hits them and they slap their other hand down on the counter, ducking their head down. is that her power or the head injury making them feel like the room is tilted? grip tightens on the sink, eyes squinting shut again. her hands they can feel on their face not a moment later, gentle but nevertheless tense with her fury. “ they’re already gone, hekate. can you - can you help me... ” they trail off, looking oddly small, and pull away from her touch. “ nevermind. I can do it myself, promise. everything’s good. or - it will be. ”
they look up, give her another crooked smile, looking a little more dazed than before. her power feels less like an angry nest of hornets now and more like a furious bear, tall and imposing and utterly terrifying. “ you have - have to tone down the - the everything, though, bella. it’s too much - ” they make a vague gesture with their shoulders, as if that will make her understand what too much is for them “ - right now. I know what my anger does to things around me, and right now I don’t want to know what yours does to the world around you. ” // @solaoccasum
