apparently i can do rough design sketches, but still not settle on a name :)

anyway, they’re they/them, gay for guys and masc aligned fellow nbs, deeply in love with malak but also very attracted to canderous.

started transitioning by scheduling top surgery without telling literally anyone and dragged a very concerned malak along, who was half convinced his best friend was secretly dying until after the surgery was over.

Summary: Carth questions Revan about their connection to Darth Malak

“What is Malak to you, exactly?” Carth asks as he sets their coordinates for the Star Forge under Revan’s direction.

It comes out of his mouth like a shot, and he almost regrets it, but the question is one that’s been bothering him since their escape from the Leviathan. He needs to know. Needs to be sure that when push comes to shove, Revan isn’t going to let Malak live for old time’s sake.

Revan gives him a look he can’t decipher - nothing new there - and sighs deeply instead of firing one of their usual snappy retorts. “Are you sure you want me to answer that?”

“I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t,” he says with a touch of petulance, then quickly adds, “but if you really don’t want to talk about it I’ll leave you alone.”

Revan’s unnerving golden eyes flash a critical look his way, maybe assessing how serious he really is. Apparently serious enough, because their gaze is suddenly far away and they seem much, much older, as if the weight of the universe rests on their shoulders.

In a way, a quiet voice in Carth’s head reminds him, it does.

“Alek was everything to me,” they finally admit. Carth isn’t nearly as surprised as he’d hoped to be. “He is everything to me. We made and unmade one another in a thousand different ways and I-- I’ll kill him when the time comes because the galaxy needs him to die, but…”

“But what?” Carth isn’t sure why he keeps prodding, knows he would hate it if the situation were reversed, but something in him has to be sure.

Revan’s mouth opens and closes around empty air. They turn away.

And just like that he has his answer.

Their unspoken words hang in the cockpit long after they’ve left, turning around and around and around again in Carth’s head.

But it will kill me, too.

It doesn’t comfort him like he thought it would.

I’m not here to judge Rey Skywalker and her rat boyfriend, but Revan and Bastila were here first.

“What were the Jedi doing here?”

“Altering memories, wiping minds and other... unsavory force experiments.”

Can we talk about this? Now I don’t know the pub side of this because I only have one toon that can do this with the story order. But I find this line fascinating especially when it’s said by a sith. In fact I’m surprised by this statement and it the response from Krovos is vauge and more mission oriented.

Now at first I thought it was just a throw away reference to Revan at first especially considering the most recent news with kotor. But thinking in it deeper It’s not.

We know that the Jedi have had many temples at a time, Courasaunt being the most used through the centuries. Courasaunt was the main archive the main teaching point, the hub for all Jedi activity. Any other temples or enclaves were satellites with the exception of tython in the couple instances it’s been used.

And in KOTOR II we learn that the enclave was indeed one of these satellites. Combined with the information in this flashpoint, I think that Dantooine was a rehabilitation center.

Now why would that line be put in if it was a rehabilitation center. Well a couple reasons, one the only information the sith may have about the dantooine enclave is what was gained through Revan. Revan had a skewed point of view, they (yes they don’t fight me) were forcibly wiped of their memory through the force, and whatever was left was heavily altered to prevent them from realizing who they were. Two, it’s possible that Revan was not the only former Jedi taken and processed in a similar way, now of course likely not to the same extent because they would not know as much as Revan had.

And the fandom tends to lump sith as one group who have no morals and tend to go too far and slaughter millions, but you do have to think that’s not every sith nor does this necessarily apply to the species culture. As a mostly force sensitive culture and one that ostracizes non-force sensitives you have to assume that there are rules. And with this line you could assume that using the force on purpose to mess with ones mind in ways that will damage the mind ie; erasing memories, altering memories is unacceptable. Now this could be a subset of pure bloods, or an old rule but it’s still interesting to think about.

The ship is eerily quiet in the aftermath of Carth’s outburst. The entire crew had sided with Venka - with Revan - even Carth in the end, but they all clearly need time to process the revelation.

Revan does too. They have suspected for months and known for weeks that the Jedi were lying to them, that the things they think they know are a pale shadow compared to the reality of their visions, but it’s different now that it’s out in the open. They pace their quarters and let their thoughts run.

Lies, lies, lies.

The Jedi council on Dantooine had sat before a fiction of their own making and preached honesty with oneself and the Force, and it made Revan’s entire being simmer with anger. Killing them would have been kinder. Wiser. Because if Revan didn’t have a problem with the Jedi before, they most certainly do now, and—

“How are you holding up?” Canderous asks.

Revan suppresses a start; they hadn’t even noticed him leaning against the doorframe.

“How do you think?” They don’t stop their pacing.

He steps into the room and takes a seat on the edge of Revan’s bunk, grey eyes tracking their every move.

“Onasi is an idiot,” he says. “I know I don’t need to tell you that, but it’s true.”

Revan snorts. “I can’t even blame the man. All he does is whine about trust issues and here I am, the galaxy’s greatest tyrant masquerading as a Force-sensitive spice runner from Deralia. I’m more surprised the rest aren’t just as upset.” They spare him a glance at the last part, questioning.

“If you really think this could make me care for you any less, you’re dumber than Onasi,” Canderous says. He stands, places a hand on Revan’s shoulder, rubs a calloused thumb across their cheekbone. Revan stills instantly. “Ner kar’ta,” he breathes reverently, “if you asked me to burn this galaxy to the ground I would do it in an instant. To stand by your side is an honor, to fight by it an even greater one. Say the word and I swear to you, I would kneel before you and put my life in your hands.”

Revan’s golden eyes widen at his words, and they flinch back. “Give your life to something real, Canderous. What stands before you is part lie and part legend.”

He just shakes his head and leans down to press his forehead to theirs. “Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum, Revan.”

I know you forever.

I love you.

“What the jetii did to you is a crime,” he says, “but don’t think for one second that they define you.”

Revan admires the planes of his face as much as they can so close and lets a traitorously soft smile curl the edge of their sharp mouth. “You’re a better man than you give yourself credit for.”

“And you are more than the stories they’ve told.”
