Six days after the inception job, Arthur’s door was kicked in by MI5 and Eames, the former pointing guns at him and the latter looking like he had not slept a wink since LAX. “They contacted me and needed the best team. Who was I going to take aboard if not you?” Arthur wanted to say several things, including but this was supposed to be my holiday, we just got out of that nightmare and you’re trying to send us into another one, you had the fucking nerve to drag Cobb out of the reach of his children, why the hell do you work for MI5, how the hell did you find me, can’t you just go away and why are you staring me like that? “Fine.” He stood up, braving the fact that he was only dressed in his blue pyjama bottoms. “What do you need done?” “Wear something less unsettling,” Eames said.

My thoughts:

I don't make many fic recs on here, mainly because I don't usually have time to do a lot of reading since I'm usually writing. However, I wanted to read this story partially because my friend wrote it, but mainly because the summary hooked me the second I read it. I loved the questions it had running through my head and the way Arthur and Eames interacted, and I have to say that the story definitely didn't disappoint.

Once I started reading this story I couldn't stop. It is everything we love about Inception. There's a gripping, complex and yet somehow easy to follow action plot that kept my heart racing right until the last sentence. The author really took the time to write a story that actually has a detailed plan and a complete follow-through from start to finish of a dream job. If you love Inception fics but wish there were more fics that revolved around a job, this is for you.

Beyond that, there are great characterizations for both canon characters and original characters. Dialogue and actions are well executed, and Arthur and Eames' relationship is one that leaves you equally nervous and eager the entire time. The way they interact is amazing and I always looked forward to the next scene where they would interact again.

With a well thought out action plot of a complex dream job, imaginative situations and dreamscapes, and riveting new and familiar characters, this is definitely a story that I felt necessary to recommend for others to read.

How many hours a day do you write during the week? How about weekend? And/or how many words?

Every day is different, but I'd say on average I write 4-5 hours a day. Sometimes I don't write at all if I'm out with family/friends, and other days I write 7-8 hours flat. But yeah, I'd say a good estimate is 4-5 hours a day. As for number of words, I would say my average is about 800 words per hour. So approximately 3000-4000 words a day ^.^

Not knowing what you are writing, you have the technical skills and the passion to even go the official route I think, as long as there is market and the right people and all of the rest that is largely depends on luck. But I like this idea of moving from fan fiction to self publishing. I really see that being the way in the future. What's your novel about? (You don't have to tell if you don't want to)

Thank you again <3 Honestly it's support from you amazing people online that actually make me believe I could be a full-time writer someday. And I would love that so much, because it's not just about writing for me anymore. I love to write, but I'm also developing a love for beta-ing, providing advice and feedback, and just generally talking with my readers. Even though I would love to already have a book published on the bookshelf, I'm so glad I ended up traveling this route because my readers online are the ones who really make writing worthwhile for me.

I'm not going to say too much about the novel (yet), but I'd be willing to give a few hints, especially to answer your comment :) I've always been very interested in the story bodies tell: body language, expressions etc. But I wasn't sure how I wanted to tackle this theme. And then, I swear I don't know where the idea came from, I started wondering what it would be like for porn stars to share such an intimate connection with strangers and then sharing something so similar with a partner etc.

I won't go into any more details than that, but that's the broad theme of what my novel is about :) It's actually more challenging than I was expecting, but I'm really enjoying writing it <3 However, you can also see how this sort of theme is not going to be accepted by a lot of mainstream official publishers, which is another reason why I decided to self publish with this story and maybe save a more suitable story for my first attempt at official publishing :)

(Comment box was too small, hence another ask) Thank you for the reply! Makes sense. Also, I like to think that this is the future. I.e. make your name online, self publish, spread the word online and you do not NEED to fit into the sometimes rather limiting requirements and conventions of the official route. This is the change I would like to see in the world. Soni and I often discuss this. We feel that there is a breakthrough waiting, a few writers just need to cross the line. (tbcontinued)

I would love to think and hope that this is the future :) After all, after two years of posting online and collecting a very loyal group of readers who are all utterly amazing, patient and supportive, I can always hope that it's enough to really kick-start me if I self publish. Of course, that's what I'm hoping since that's why I'm planning to self publish now :)

I would especially love to be able to be relatively successful exactly because of what you said: "you do not NEED to fit into the sometimes rather limiting requirements and conventions of the official route." Let's be honest here, I write a lot of sex. I have no issue with it, and you guys have no issue with it, and that's amazing to me. Sex is never just sex to me; it's as much a part of the story as anything else. However, I can't see many publishers deciding to publish my explicit sex (though there's 50 Shades so who knows anymore). But I think I'm even more limited because I feel like they would still shy away from gay explicit sex. Even though I hope and believe we're becoming more progressive about that, I just don't think I would have many takers. Not to say I can't write stories without sex, because I can. It's just that it's part of the story I want to tell, so it would be nice to be able to publish my work as I want it read to people who don't mind reading it that way :)
