Kind of an absolute disaster, and it’d take a while to clean up later, but it does give him a little bit of an idea. “Oh...I think, um, we should enroll you in my hacking essentials section instead of web design.”

           “Good on you, then.” It’s enough to drag a smirk over his mouth, at least, even if he’s still not entirely paying attention - the magazine he’s thumbing through is just astounding in its stupidity, after all. Still, he raises his teacup to her in half-mocking congratulations, bringing it to his lips before setting it back down. “Next time, you should win and avoid new friendships. Have your teachers told you that emotional attachments are absolute shite for staying in one piece yet?”

    Nate misses his wife and daughter. it doesn’t take a genius to figure that out. but how could he not miss them? he spent half of his life with his wife and the both of them were the loves of his life and more often than not, he finds himself regretting staying in this timeline. it’s too late to take any of that back, though. he made his choice and he has to live with it. it’s better to focus his anger on why he stayed in the first place-- to fix up the future.
