Driver ran off Old Highway 74 near entrance of W.E. Bailey’s building heading toward Evergreen. The white four-door small car didn’t slow down, it struck my 40’ x 80’ building. My sister-in-law and her some heard the impact and called me out of the house. By the time I got out of the house, the car had pulled the building and continued driving in the direction of Bird Cage, Evergreen or parts unknown. She could not have gotten far. The front end was damaged and I do not think the headlights worked. The airbags had deployed. My nephew reported to the NCHP and Sheriff’s Department the first the letters of the license plate “LBJ” but those tags could have been expired or stolen.
