I've never considered myself a jealous person, but the amount of pure envy I feel for everyone who was able to go to the JWCT panel at Comicon San Diego says otherwise.

*Differences* of Sexual Development is the more PC term!! I came across this after hearing out a few DSD/intersex/CCSD people and their frustration in being used as a “prop” for trans rhetoric. I had actually never ever heard from a DSD/CCSD person on the trans topic for years til I heard those people this year.

I always thought it had been a mutual understanding and even support on their part to be part of trans/self-ID rhetoric, but it seems not?

They also said something about how the phrase “assigned at birth” originated from the DSD/intersex/CCSD community. The phrase came out of the debate concerning “sex-conforming” surgeries done to babies before they could consent, hence literally “assigning” the “sex at birth”. They said they fought for no sex- conforming surgeries on minors until they were of age to decide what to do with their bodies on their own because of the complications that arose in their lives as a result of having the conforming surgeries before their consent. So, that’s where the phrase “assigned at birth” is actually taken from

I never really thought about or heard of this before, so I thought I’d share.

Edit: I had a guy comment on this telling me this is offensive and he was “intersex”… I went to his page and found he had actually purposefully castrated himself and also identified as an “eunuch”. He’s not intersex… He even, without me having said such a thing, said I called him a “pervert”, which was a huge red flag that he’s been called that before!

this is where self-ID becomes an issue… a man who willingly had his parts removed claimed he was “intersex” and speaking for people with DSD…

i am once again asking you to bother my school district’s superintendent.

but for real, though. nevada and the federal government announced state of emergencies and he still wont temporarily close schools. a lot of our families have to take care of the elderly, or people with pre-existing medical conditions or weak immune systems. we can’t keep putting the community at risk because ccsd is indecisive.

the las vegas strip, the core of las vegas’ economy, is starting to shut down many hotel amenities. a lot of employees are currently out of jobs. unlv has moved to online classes. the district cancelled all after-school activities, but the coronavirus cant decide to not infect people during regular school hours. i can understand the shutdowns on travel and postponing sports, but it simply isn’t enough. i dont know how its ok for 40+ students to be crammed into classrooms when all of these things are happening.

it sucks that important events like prom have to be cancelled and that graduation is postponed, but i can understand why that’s the case. i hate that my senior year is like this, but it can’t be helped. at this rate, the only real option is to just move online for the time-being. it’s going to take forever to get a response, and i’m pretty sure the board is going to wait until theres a student case in the valley.
