The park seemed peaceful, everyone around her was happy, children were playing with one another and by all accounts it was a beautiful day. The atmosphere was lovely and spring was in the air. And as Usagi stood by the railing of the lake, leaning against it and watching the couples in row boats dotting the lakes, she felt as though she was ruining the vibe. She looked fine outwardly, maybe even serene in some way, but inside, her mind was overworked. Between school and moonlighting as a superhero while not getting nearly enough sleep and constantly worrying about her friends, she was weary. But she did her best not to show it.
And she was good at it at this point.
She could be thinking about how about a year ago, there have been a monster who had terrorized people at that very lake while looking as though she really longed to be one part of the couples who floated along on the lake’s surface. And part of her did. It was easy to give into those kind of feelings instead of her worries. But they were always there. She could see different places all over Juuban that had been subject to attacks. The public tended to forget these things in times of peace.
The familiar voice behind her that seemed to read her mind spooked her slightly and she turned from the lake, blue eyes owlish with how big they were in her shock. But she recognized him immediately.
"Abel-san...?” She turned to face him fully, smiling in greeting even as her curiosity became clear in her expression. He’d not been around for some time. And the last time he’d been there...
“It’s been a while. I’m glad to see you’re okay.”

UNPROMPTED ASKS
The question caught her off-guard and she started, owlishly wide blue eyes staring up at him in wary confusion. People showing up out of nowhere and knowing or wanting to know things about her or her enemies was an unfortunate but startlingly common occurrence for her by this point. But beings as Luna had been able to gather little intel on the person they knew as Link, it put her a little more on edge.
Her gaze swept over him cautiously, “Well...” She started, stalling a little as she tried to get a sense of him. He was tall (but then again pretty much anyone over 165 cm was tall to her), and his body language said nothing threatening to her. However, his expression and aura seemed to radiate a kind of gentleness that put her at ease.
“I... Wouldn’t say I know them all that well...” She answered after a moment, awkwardly, “I know of someone named Link... Why do you want to know?”
@ncthinglostnothingained sent: "Do you know a man named Kazama?"
Looks like her family’s shrine was just a place for Kagome to meet strange people, going outside to take a quick look around the grounds before they closed the place for visitors. Before she can even take note of his appearance and just how he towered over her, the mention of Kazam’s name is what grabs at her. If he knew about Kazama, then he had to be wrapped up in the crazy web that was...whatever had been going on since she and Inuyahsa reunited all that time ago.
The conflict of Naraku and the Shikon Jewel shards seemed like such a distant memory, having taken less priority ever since all this stuff started. That is why Kagome made sure to hold her jewel shards to her chest, to keep them out of Naraku’s hands since it appeared he too still could not travel to her era unlike all the new players in this crazy game of interdimensional chess.
“My question to you is who are you exactly, and why do you want to know if I know someone? The shrine is about to close, you know.”
"Do you know someone named Inuyasha?"
“Inuyasha?” Michiru parroted. It didn’t sound familiar to him, not off the bat...
Michiru felt his old injury throbbing as he thought about it. His hand reached behind himself to rub the spot of his head where the dull ache bloomed at the back of his skull. “I don’t think I do? It sounds like a unique name though... Maybe they might be visiting Tokyo?”
