Lobstering Off Black Spruce Ledge, N.C. Wyeth
For four years in a row Saks 5th Avenue used my Book Santa Calls as the basis for their Christmas windows and a variety of cookie jars and ornaments. My favorites were the cookie jars. When my kids were small I made Christmas into a sort of fever dream that was inspired by the artist NC Wyeth. We moved most of the furniture out of the downstairs and I filled the rooms with a forest of lighted trees. The kids made forts and secret rooms among the trees with pillows and blankets and toys. We had a grand time. I’m down to just four trees this year. But the memories are still very bright. #merrychristmas #santa #coolyule #santacalls #rotg #ncwyeth https://www.instagram.com/p/B6e33D5F7ps/?igshid=cxewq3o3mowf

Study of N.C. Wyeth’s:
“The Homecoming”
From @isaactrexarms - “Happy Thanksgiving! Over the last century or so, our Puritan forefathers have been trivialized and demonized by historical revisionists and political correctness. But I'm grateful for a people who were brave enough to move to a brutal wilderness, wise enough to lay the foundations for a great nation, and hopeful enough to hold a Thanksgiving feast even after they'd lost almost half of their brothers and sisters. Today, the entire world has benefited from the hard and largely forgotten work of this tiny but dedicated group.” - #puritans #founders #colonists #plymouth #colonists #thanksgiving #ncwyeth
