After fumbling with your keys, you finally manage to lock your apartment. Your friends insisted that you go out tonight because it was time to move on. You have no desire to go, and it was hard not to take your trouble with your keys as a sign you shouldn’t. But, you had promised them.
You’re lost in your thoughts as you head to the stairwell and nearly collide with a man coming down the hall, “Sorr-” You begin to say but stop when you see his face. Your mouth goes dry, and your heart begins to race. “Mark?” You croak out.
He gives you a shy smile. “Can we talk?” He whispers. You nod and head back to your apartment. The door unlocks on the first try, and you step in, leaving the door open for Mark. Your heart continues to race, and you take a couple deep breaths to force it to calm down. There’s no reason for it to race. Not after everything that’s happened.
“I’m sorry.” The words wreck havoc on your heart, but you ignore it. Turning around, you face him and lose all your nerve. His eyes, mouth, shoulders everything is drooping. “I know I’ve been gone and distant and that you deserve someone better-” You hold up your hand, stopping him.
You could never understand why such a beautiful wonderful man could be so self-deprecating. “I know your busy, Mark. That part of our relationship never upset me. Any chance I get…got to spend with you or talk to you was precious to me. But, I never felt like the same was true for you. I felt like a burden in your life. One more thing, in an endless list of things, you had to worry about. I didn’t want to feel like that anymore. And I didn’t want to add to your list of worries.” You finally say what you’ve wanted to say for so long. You watch Mark’s face for his reaction, but it’s blank.
“That’s the reason?” You nod. A smile breaks across his face, bringing life to his whole body. You eye him, but he just laughs. “I came here today to get you back. I thought- It doesn’t matter what I thought. You are the most precious person in my life, and I’m sorry I ever made you feel you weren’t. Do you have paper and a pen?”
“What?” You can’t believe what you’re hearing, and your heart is about to burst out of your body. Mark doesn’t give you a chance to reply. He walks over to your table and grabs what he asked for.
“You and me.” He says. “Let’s try it again, but this time it’s going to be different. Let’s make a vow.” He starts writing on the paper. “Mark promises to never ever make (y/n) feel like she is a burden to him and to love and cherish every moment he has with her, and (y/n) promises to never leave Mark and instead will tell him whenever he does anything that upsets her.” He finishes writing the sentence and looks up at you. “Now, let’s sign it.” He scribbles his signature and holds the pen out to you. You take it and pause for a moment looking into his eyes before writing your name below his.

A pounding at your door nearly gives you a heart attack. You drop the dish you were washing and clutch your chest, as the pounding continues. You leave your kitchen and head to the front door. A look through the peep hole reveals that Jackson was the one who nearly killed you. You throw open the door and glare at him. “What?” You growl.
Your sour mood has no affect on him. He smiles and holds out a small box. “Do you know what today is?”
“Tuesday?” His smile falters, but he brings it back to full force with a chuckle.
“It’s white day.” Your eyes go wide as you notice that Jackson is dressed in white jeans, white shirt, white jacket, and white converse and is holding a white box probably filled with white chocolate.
You hide your face in your hands and alternate between laughing and crying. “I’m so stupid. I completely forgot, and I look like crap.” You mumble into your hands.
“Baby.” Jackson’s arms wrap around you as he pulls you into his chest. “Never ever call yourself stupid. You are brilliant and beautiful no matter what. I have a full day planned for us. I’m ready to go now, but if you want to get ready before we leave, I understand, and I can wait.”
You pull away and glance up at his beaming face. “What do you have planned for us?”
“It’s a surprise.” He waggles his brows which makes you laugh.
“Do I have to wear full white?” He laughs this time and shakes his head.
You wrap your arms around him again, giving him a proper hug. “Why are you always so good to me?”
“Because I’m yours, and your mine.” You pull away a bit, so you can place a kiss on his lips. He goes in for another kiss, but you pull away laughing.
“There’ll be plenty of time for that later. Right, now I have to get ready.” You say as you rush off to the bathroom.

“I’m so sorry.” Yugyeom apologizes for the fifth time. You shake your head. You can tell he regrets telling the rest of the boys, but his apologies won’t save you from this situation. You continue to glare at him.
“Are you two going to stand there all day or are we going to have this dance off?” BamBam interrupts your glare. You turn towards him and the rest of Got7.
All the boys are crowded around you and Yugyeom waiting. Yugyeom happened to mention to them that you were an expert at Dance Dance Revolution which had prompted them to ask if you could beat him. Of course, he said never ever, but the boys wanted proof.
You had been chilling at your apartment minding your own business when the seven idiots showed up. The next thing you knew you were in an arcade with a challenge to beat the maknae at DDR.
“Well…” BamBam prompts. You want to whack each of them on the back of the head and walk off, but your pride won’t let you. Also the winner would be treated to BBQ by the loser, and you weren’t one to pass up free food.
Stepping onto the dance platform, you loosen up, rolling your shoulder and neck.
“Are you ready?” Yugyeom asks after stepping onto his platform.
“Are you?” You quip back with an eyebrow raise.
The music starts, and you’re off. Your legs glide across the platform hitting each arrow in sync with the music. You forget about your audience and your competitor and focus solely on your movements. A bright laugh breaks your deep concentration. You still keep up with the moves, but you also can’t help side eyeing Yugyeom as he dances. He seems to be laughing more than concentrating.
The song ends, and you quickly lean over to check the score.
“I win!” You shout, pumping your fists in the air. You can hear a chorus of “OH” from behind you. Yugyeom gives the boys a look, but they just laugh at him.
“I wasn’t really trying.” He pouts.
“That’s your problem not mine. But now you owe me BBQ.”

The music booms across the dance floor, and your body moves to the beat. People fill the dance floor, but you barely notice them. You came out to let loose and dance. Your friends started the night dancing with you but soon migrated to tables to drink and rest their aching feet. Your feet didn’t bother you. Closing your eyes, you bounce along to the music.
A tap on your shoulder breaks your concentration. A guy is standing next to you. He has pale blond hair and stunning blue eyes which you can tell are contacts, but you don’t mind. He’s hot. He smiles and motions between you, clearly asking you to dance. You nod, and he wraps his arms around your waist. He moves in perfect time with the music, and you move with him. Your bodies becoming one on the dance floor.
The song switches, and your caught off guard as your body tries to adjust to the new beat. The strong hands on your waist easily guide into the rhythm of the new song. As the song comes to an end, the guy leans towards you. “Let’s go up.” He says. You meet his eyes, your face awash in confusion. He smiles and motions to the balcony that overlooks the dance floor. You nod, and he grabs your hand and leads you off the dance floor.
After getting a drink from the upstairs bar, you head over to the balcony with your dance partner. You watch the people dance below as you continue to sway to the music. “I’ve never seen you here before.” Your partner says. His voice is velvet smooth.
“Never?” You quirk an eyebrow.
“Never ever.” He smirks back at you. You find that hard to believe you come nearly every weekend to dance, but you just shrug your shoulders.
“That’s a shame.” You say as you finish off your drink. “Hopefully, you’ll see me next time.” You give him a sly smile and start to head off but stop. You walk back and lean close placing an innocent kiss on his cheek. You pull back and give him a not so innocent look before turning around and continuing on your way, certain you’ll see him next time.

“I’m never ever gonna make you cry.” Youngjae proclaims, throwing his whole body into the statement. You chuckle through your tears.
“That’s a pretty heavy promise.”
“I mean it.” His eyes confirm his statement, and you have to look away.
“You really shouldn’t make promises like that.” You wipe the tears off your face and shake your head trying to stop anymore from falling. You refuse to look back at him as you go around your living room picking up tissues. Youngjae had barged into your apartment and found you curled up on the couch with a box of tissues and a tub of ice cream. Someone, probably Jackson, had told him your boyfriend had broken up with you.
Apparently, the distance was too much for him, and he had found someone closer to comfort him. Your shoulders shudder as you fight back another wave of tears. The bastard doesn’t deserve your tears you tell yourself.
As you bend down to pick up another tissue, you find Youngjae beat you to it. Your eyes go wide, and you snatch the tissue from him. “Don’t touch that. It’s disgusting.” He chuckles, and you stare at him like he’s gone crazy.
“It was worth it.” You continue to stare at him. “You sounded more like yourself.” He explains.
You shake your head. “If I promise to act more like myself, will you promise not to touch my nasty tissues?” He chuckles but nods.
Youngjae leaves for a bit while you finish cleaning up, and when he returns he brings a load of junk food with him. You two spend the rest of the night eating and watching movies. Halfway through the third movie you find yourself nodding off. Youngjae guides your head to his shoulder, and you nuzzle into him. “I mean it.” He whispers.
