Dryocopus martius (Black Woodpecker) Mick Manning A first peep at Near The Bear, North, an ABC of pochoired birds, fish and beasts from the North, that inhibit the wilder places under the Bear constellation. Mick Manning is one of the few artists that work using the complicated process of pochoir, where each layer of colour is constructed by means of stencilling, using sponges, brushes and stamping tools. We’re launching this amazing book next year at Mick’s solo show of his work in Edinburgh. Packing a month's worth of clothes is something I never want to do again.
