“No no see. Now everything makes sense.” Taz mirrored her words from before with a chuckle. “Wait, I met that guy. The other week. He was kinda kinda surly. He was buying noodles, and man he was not interested. Hey, you’re the wife he kept talking about. Small world!” His smile was toothy.

“No? Singing is the best fun. Let me know if you change your mind and need to scream it out.” He leaned back into his chair, sipping his drink and apparently content.

Dal had already been ready to go, having gotten dressed while pacing his apartment. As usual when outside for reasons other than exercise he was dressed nicely. A tight button down, new jeans, shiny boots. He was waiting, leaning against the wall with his face blank as a statue. Inside his mind was whirling like a hurricane, moving around one specific future focal point.

That changed when he saw her. Expression was suddenly on his face, the usual cheery affair. He straightened up and started over.

“Hey, Boss. You- Wait. Are you pregnant?! The fuck?”
