Idek what's happening

Listen, it's been a long 10-15 days. But what's worse is that they felt like 5 days. Because my brain is laggier than our ERP website during result day overload. Or maybe brain did a massive mind wipe without my permission to cope. Oh well.

I'm trying to search my recycle bin to find any leftover data about what happened and when so here it goes:

Feb 14-15: I think I just finished some assignments? And I had my soft computing exam on 16th so I was prepping for that ig

Feb 16-18: okay so Monday was exam day but I did manage to submit one assignment which was past due (actually all the assignments were past due, I don't care about due dates anymore). But I was submitting at least 3 assignments everyday and also on 17th i had another test that I screwed up :'D. I remember being absolutely dead on 18th because my period started and they're extremely painful these days for some reason :')

Feb 19-20: I had a day off on 19th so I utilised it to work on my very first pentesting report. I basically did a speed run on most popular active scanning tools on kali. Then I battled with MS word to make the report. I also had to make a poster on it so I spent 4 hours on canva. ALSO CLOUDFARE DECIDED TO GO DOWN RIGHT AFTER I WAS DONE WITH MY REPORT WHICH SUCKS BECAUSE THE WEBSITE I WAS WORKING ON USED CLOUDFLARE AND IT WAS THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT (ETHICALLY just to find vulnerabilities) AGHHHHhhh. Brain was fried but hey atleast the poster came out pretty? Here's a snippet that doesn't have the high risk vulnerabilities (Won't be showing that for legal reasons lol)

Feb 21-22: I had to present my report and it went alright. My prof kinda misinterpreted one of my answers to her questions so it was kinda awkward. But at least it's done now. I did submit several assignments that day too, including the Olympics data analysis streamlit app cuz wooohoo Olympics 2026. And on 22nd I was prepping for my probabilistic graphical model exam which took up the whole day

Feb 23-26 (present) : okay so 23 was exam day ofc, I also was one of the few idiots who attended the finance lecture that day. Look, we have 4 hours of finance lecs every monday (right after we gave our exam. Or 2 exams. Depends which monday) with no breaks and our prof can get pretty insufferable at times and he's highly interactive so you can't even zone out in his class cuz his laser detector eyes will somehow catch you and then he will turn you into his standup comedy bit in front of the whole class which is not so fun. But anyways one assignment was still submitted this day. On 24th I skipped all my classes to sleep, even though I had a test that day. Turns out everyone else had the same idea so they cancelled the test i think. Long live the power of unintentional mass bunk. Then on 25th we did have classes again but everyone was attending an event that my friends also dragged me into and I had to walk around in a saree for 7 hours straight and by the time I reached home I was basically dead with all the muscle pain, but nope you still gotta submit assignments even if you're dead. I'm still kinda dead. But I will recover soon.

OH ALSO. I joined an "internship", I say that in quotes because it's very sus. They were asking to join in groups and my friends dragged me into this mess. But I'm using this as an opportunity to do some investigative journaling on these "companies" and their stupid practices (I kinda wanna make a yt video on it cuz it's a growing problem in India and it pisses me out enough for it to be a detailed 2 hour deep dive but my schedule doesn't even allow me to eat 3 meals a day so it might just be a messy long Tumblr post with no reach lol)

Also I have a couple of holidays back to back because of college events so I'm gonna be an introvert and not attend all of them. I'll lock in instead. Hopefully more time won't be wasted

*Regretting my life choices*

Hello hi. This is finals week. I however am not studying for my next exam which is a day after tomorrow. I'm stuck doing some research for my internship. (Yes that paper does say hungry hungry hippo). Also I'm panicking cuz my placements start from mid July and I still feel like a freshly hatched little chick who doesn't know a thing about this world. I had to stop my leetcoding streak cuz of exams, but we're like 3/5 done. I don't really care about the other 2 tbh. I'm just gonna study a day before as usual. But once I'm done with my exams I'll have to lock in fr. Hell awaits me

We are going through it my dudes

So the last time I did an update, it was 1st March. And now it's 10th March. Wtf how does that even work ~ says me literally every single week

This week truly has been hell. Also this update stuff is so hard cuz I have to pull things out of my secondary memory and my RAM is overloaded all the time. I need a hardware upgrade

2 march: all records for this day seem to have been deleted, but if I have to guess. I think I was just working on getting back to flutter and finishing pending homework. Also I got my hackathon results and we were shortlisted for the semi finals

3 march: it was holi that day, but I didn't go outside cuz I don't have any friends 👍I did have a meeting in the afternoon with my teammates to select a problem statement, and then another meeting in the evening to discuss the system architecture and implementation plan. Our problem statement was kinda generic (a crop recommendation system using ML) but this one guy in my team was really interested in it so we went with it. The problem statement also asked for a mobile based solution, which was the biggest coincidence ever cuz I was just starting to get back to flutter lol

March 3(night) + 4th March: these days were spent building the UI, flutter has soo many open source ui kits online, and I just found it so easy to work with in general lol. Everything just makes sense. I can't believe I was missing out on it for 2 whole years :')

At around night time we had another meeting to clarify backend stuff and the one dude already found the pretrained models we'd be using so we just had to integrate them

5 march: the backend was partially done (we got like 1 model running but I had to make some adjustments to it to increase the accuracy of its predictions, so that took some time). In the evening we had our pre semi finals mentoring round (which was graded) so we just explained our architecture and workflow and gave a basic demo, atp the system was mostly static except for the one model running. The mentor/judge was veRy bitey but she was an expert in agriculture soo whatever lol

5-6 march: more allnighters and full days spent to do backend integration. We also had to incorporate the mentor's feedback so that took us a loonggg time

7 march: Hackathon day. We reached the venue at 8 am. We hadn't prepared a presentation yet so we were just speedrunning it lol. We hadn't even prepared how we wanted to explain the project. It was pure chaos. But we got our shit together before the semi finals evaluation, in which they sent tHE SAME BITEY MENTOR FROM LAST TIME, and she didn't even let us speak or show our work :') we got a super low score in that round but we were still one of the top 15 teams selected for finals. Final round had pretty chill judges and they gave us a great score, but because of our low score in the last round we didn't make it to top 3 (we were off by 10 points). I reached home by 9 pm so I was exhausted and went straight to bed

8 march: the one excited dude in my team was going on and on about going further with our project and write a research paper. He was kinda implying that we should do this for our final year project as well but ain't no way I'm gonna spend nearly 2 sems working on more agriculture stuff. So I just agreed to it being a side research thing. But that stuff bugged me a whole lot so I was researching stuff for *my* final year project ideas till 3:30 pm, which was a bad move because I had 2 exams the next day and i hadn't studied shit. So then I spend the entire day studying and ofc retaining nothing

9 march: I had 2 exams as I said before. It was cryptography and finance back to back with no breaks. I wasn't able to finish any of them on time and both of them went bad. Especially cryptography, I think this was my worst paper yet. Which sucks because I love cryptography :')

Anyways I was super sad and numb after this so I skipped finance aGain and went straight home. I slept for 6 hours and then woke up and worked on a pending ML assignment

10 march: continued the pending assignment and submitted it. Then went to class. I had a competency test (we're done with the programming phase and are now on the aptitude phase) so they just had us do 70 7th grade maths and number systems questions that we all forgot how to do. Then I skipped cryptography lec (cuz i couldn't show my face after writing THAT paper) and instead went to attend a meeting with my final year project mentor with my teammates where i explained what exactly we wanted to work on.

I think I'm gonna spend the rest of today either revising ML or working on my machine vision mini project. Or if I get bored id probably mess around with flutter again lol

Struggle week

Yk when I saw my last post which was on 8th Feb I panicked so hard because I had no idea where those 4 days went. Then I remembered. It was allll assignments. They just keep coming? Make it stop, make it stopp

I actually missed several assignments because I was busy completing an internship's screening task (it's the weird dashboard thing that I still don't like) so now I have 3 times the usual list of assignments. Isn't all of this so beneficial for one's mental health?

And what do you do when you're in such a predicament? You move into your college's library and make it your new home. That's exactly what I've been doing, just chilling with my bunker-mates, hoping the doom would soon subside. I have not seen the light of day in about 3 days now, but but buttt I did manage to shower today so W for me.

And you know the struggle is real when you have to pull out the good old task list. I have to somehow finish all of that before Monday. And I have an exam on Monday :) actually I have exams every monday and competency tests every tuesday. On top of that I have to finish 3 mini and 1 major project this sem + make at least halfway progress on my final year project. And find an internship (but we don't talk about that)

Greetings, internet traveller. Welcome to my hellhole

I'm Neeks (she/her), and this is my study blog. My main blog is @puffy-bread-is-meh

I'm a struggling third year Computer Engineering major (with a specialisation in AI-ML) and also doing a minor in Business Development (which is pretty useless because I am not learning anything), along with honours in Cybersecurity.

Despite the drawing of me above, I am in fact not a child. Though maybe I am in spirit (i haven't updated my brain software since 2020)

(I really debated putting the chibi on here cuz it's kinda cringe and I haven't drawn anything in like 6 years, but also there's only so much you can draw on your phone without a stylus. So yeah it is what it is)

Anyways, In this blog you shall find many tales of hardship, such as rising at dawn at the elderly age of 20 and attempting to focus for more than 1800 seconds. These will probably be in the form of long, possibly incomprehensible word dumps, because life is hard and chaotic.

My posts will also sometimes include discussions of my mental and physical health because that's something I struggle with. I'll probably add them under the tag #neeksvents from now on. Normal posts would be on #neeksposts

I will focus a lot on *me*—what I do, what i experience, and when— because I'm mainly posting here as a means of self reflection. I've been losing my sense of time and forgetting everything I've done and accomplished, soo the posts serve as a reminder of everything so that I can emphasize with myself and hopefully make better decisions in the future. This is kinda like my struggle diary? with extra stakeholders ig, because it's out and open in public.

Hiding from the evil Demons

I'm gonna be honest, I did not actually lock in after the last update. My brain is still so fucked lol. I don't remember what I did on 26th. So I'm starting from 27th

Feb 27:

I spent the entire day doing my cryptography assignment. It took so long because my prof just casually forgot to teach us the maths part of the ECDH algorithm, and since i skipped the last lecture to sleep, i didn't even know how it worked conceptually. I only survived because of the power of random Indian YouTube channel as usual ofc

Also I spent 2 hours just revising Number Theory from sem 3 maths for the assignment because I spent that sem mostly high with stress (stress high is a thing i googled it) and giggled like an idiot every time Fermat Little Theorem or the Chinese remainder theorem was mentioned. Instead of yk, taking notes. Thank you past me.

Feb 28:

I had to attend a meeting in the morning with the sus internship people. Let's just say it got sussier

Then in the afternoon my friends forced me to take part in another hackathon so we had our own meeting and we settled on this aviation related problem statement. This was one of those hackathons where you have to submit your idea presentation first for screening and the real hackathon happens after you get selected in the screening round. So yeah pretty low stakes

But I still spent the majority of the day researching about issues in aviation safety and messing around with some related ui references on figma. Why do they make cs students do non cs things for hackathons like i know a fuck ton about aviation now and I have no idea what to do with this knowledge

I also applied to some internships last minute cuz it was the last day you could apply to them + was forced to some minor LinkedIn maxing. Ew I just said that

March 1:

I woke up and we had another meeting where I had to explain everything I researched to my parasite team mates who did nothing

Then we spent 700 hours on canva making the ppt (started at 4 pm and ended at 8:30 pm. That's 700 hours)

I showered 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Did my long ass annoying ML assignment

I'm gonna pull an all nighter because I didn't get to do *my work* (that is, work assigned by me, to me, for me, that I really wanted to finish in the holidays) and i can't do it tomorrow because a day after tomorrow I have to do another mysterious presentation on idek what and ik that'll take up 2 of my days again and I don't wanna waste any more time
