When will I meet them? What do they look like? Do they know I exist? What if they think I’m weird...your thoughts were interrupted by the halt of the train. You stood from your seat and grabbed your bag. You could feel the thumb print on the inside of your right wrist tingle. It had been doing this a lot lately and you wondered if that meant you would meet them soon.

When you are 13 a thumb print appears on your right wrist. This is the thumb print of your soulmate. At 25 you were beginning to worry that maybe you would never meet your soulmate but for days now the print had begun tingling. You wondered if that meant you would meet them soon.

You continued on your way to work passing people on the street wondering if maybe it was one of them. Then you noticed it, the print was burning. It didn’t hurt but it was definitely annoying. 

You continued to walk until you reached a town house that had been beside your office building for years; that was when your print began to hurt. You turned to face the door seeing a man standing in his window. You admired the man from where you stood on the sidewalk. He had beautiful long dark hair that was pulled into a low ponytail. His eyes were an interesting shade of purple, which was new sight for you. He seemed to be relaxing at home wearing jeans and a white tshirt that hugged his muscular form perfectly. He was looking out over the street and...grasping his wrist?

Oh my god. I think--

Your thoughts were interrupted again when you heard his voice. It was deep and soothing. He walked down the front walk looking at you awestruck. When he approached you he immediately grabbed your wrist and placed his thumb over your print. You felt your heart race as you watched his face soften.

“Hello, my name is Neji. I’m your soulmate.” he said confidently.

You quickly wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him into a heated kiss.

“Hello Neji, I’m Y/N. I am so glad we finally found each other.” you said choking back tears of joy.

It was approaching the end of the semester and everyone knows what that means; yes, final exams. You had spent every night this week studying your ass off trying to make sense of the material that you had learned in the past semester. Fortunately for you, the library on campus was going to begin extending their hours so that you could work well into the night. 

It was around 6:00 pm., you had just had dinner and was making your way toward the library running through a mental list of everything you needed to accomplish tonight. You had a major paper that you had to work on for sure, but it also wouldn’t hurt to study in some of your major intensive classes either. 

Your list seemed to grow longer with every step toward the library and you knew that you would be there until they closed at 2:00 am. You pushed open the the door and headed inside. You always loved libraries because of their quiet and calm nature. You headed down to the bottom floor to sign into one of the study rooms for the evening, and thats when you saw him. 

You would have fallen down the stairs had it not been for the railing. He was the most beautiful man you had ever seen in your life. He had long, silky, dark hair pulled into a loose low ponytail. He wore a cream-colored linen button-down rolled at the sleeves to show off flawless porcelain arms that were adorned with lean muscle. The shirt was tucked into a pair of charcoal grey pants that hugged his ass perfectly. You didn’t know this man but you had already made it your mission to get his number.

You took a deep breath and walked over the desk where this mystery guy was working on a computer. When you approached the desk he raised his head showing off a set of incredible lavender eyes. You stood there shocked and unable to speak; oh you were in trouble for sure.

“Ma’am, can I help you?” mystery man asked politely with a deep calm voice. You snapped back to reality feeling embarrassed for your moment of complete awkwardness. 

“Um, yeah. Sorry for that… I -uh need to sign up for a study room.” you stammered trying to regain the confidence you had prior to making yourself look like a jackass. Mystery guy grabbed the log book and ran a finger down the page looking for an open spot. You found yourself imagining what it would feel like to have that finger running down your spine. The thought gave you chills and caused you to blush.

“Looks like we have one available. Name?” he asked cooly. 

“Y/N, and you are?” you asked gaining a little more confidence.

“My name is Neji. You’re in study room 6 which is right around the corner. I will be around to remind you of closing about 1:45 if you haven’t left yet.” You shook your head in understanding and headed to your study room.

Things were going decently until you found yourself searching social media looking for Neji. You had to know more about this man. You received a notification while scrolling on your phone. It was an email from Neji letting you know that you had left your I.D. at the desk. You quickly got up and headed toward the desk.

Neji looked up from his computer again and handed you your I.D. Your fingers brushed slightly causing your cheeks to blush a little. You flashed him a smile and gave him a simple ‘thanks’ before turning to leave.

“Hey Y/N.” Neji called to you. You turned around to face him at the desk and he handed you a sticky note. He turned back to his computer and continued working leaving you to look at the note and return to your own work. Once back in the study room you looked at the sticky note and felt your heart skip a beat. The note read:

‘Here’s my number’

Neji x reader [AU] valentine's special.

It was 6:00 in the morning. (y/n) was checking her tumbler before going to school. Anon has messaged her. She grinned. An anonymous has been sending her cute anons from a long time ago she wonders if it's the same person or many people. She wasn't popular at all. Well to be clear more popular on internet and not popular at all in real life. "Has anyone proposed you yet?" The anon asked in the message. "No lol" (y/n) answered. Aftee 5 minutes she got another anonymous message. It said. "Are you gonna propose someone?" That anon asked. "No. I am just too shy to confess" (y/n) answered anon again. She received another anonymous message. "Who is it?" That anon asked. "It's a secret duh!" (y/n) answered the anon. Another message was received. "A little about him? Like his looks and other stuff?" The anon asked. "Hmmm well the one I like has long hair and pearly eyes o////O." (y/n) answered the anon. The anon pov "Long hair and purely eyes huh?" I whispered to myself. I blushed a little. Then a thought popped in my mine. 'What if (y/n) likes Hinata and is a lesbian?' I scrunched my nose at the thought. 'Should I ask her that? What If she get's angry? I thought to myself. "But she doesn't know it's me." I whispered. 'I should ask a little bit more about the person she likes' "Any more qualities about the person?" I wrote the message and clicked send. I kept refreshing the page again and again even tho I knew it will take time to see her. Finally I got a message notification. My heart started beating very fast. I dragged my mouse cursor to the message and opened it while I closed my eyes. I opened my eyes slowly and looked at the message it said. "Well he is very arrogant and stuck up plus I don't think he will ever like me from the looks of it." My left eye twitched while reading it. So it's me. Hinata is her best friend and even an enemy can't say those words to her. I guess that I am that arrogant and stuck up person she is referring to. I see. Well I guess I am- I accidentally clicked the send message. I wrote "I am not stuck up and arrogant" on it and totally forgot to click on stay anonymous. I groaned. A message on my screen popped up. I looked at it. "Oh my Neji!!" It was from (y/n). I saw another message on (y/n)'s blog it said "Bye got to go to school." I will talk to her in school. Time skip to school~ I was in the school now. I went to where the lockers where. (y/n) was looking for something in her locker. I went near her and whispered in her ear. "Like me huh?" She yelped and turned around. "N-n-n-n-n-neji!!" She yelled while stuttering. I smirked. "Yes. The arrogant and stuck up Neji" I told her. She blushed. I held her chin and made her look at me. "(y/n) will you be my valentine?" I asked her. "Yes!" She squealed while saying it. I chucked and kissed her. She kissed me back after a minute. We both pulled back for air. "Neji?" She looked at me while asking. "Yes?" I said with a perfect eyebrow raised. "Um I made chocolates for you um would you um-" I cut her off by saying yes. She looked in her locker and got a box out it was a heart shaped box. I smiled and took it. I opened it, took out one chocolate and tossed it in my mouth.. They were delicious. (y/n) looked at me hopefully for a compliment. "Not bad" I told her. She puffed her cheeks cutely. I chucked and kissed her cheek. "We are going on a date tonight. Be ready at seven o clock sharp." I told her. Before she could protest I shoved one of the chocolates she gave me in her mouth and walked away.
