Neko meets Naga

A/N: So uuhh, I know this one’s a bit of a stretch, and not that good, but this is all I could think of to do for this one so....yeah.

Oh, he hates this. He hates this so much.

Sure, since Virgil’s a black Neko and all he shouldn’t be afraid of Friday the thirteenth. Not just cause of the fact that people will throw stones at him this day, but of the superstitions. Really, it's quite funny since he is one himself but he’s just…super scared.

Isn’t this the night werewolves and vampires are both out and going crazy? Or is that the full moon? No… Wait… It is the 13th isnt it? Fuck, he doesn’t know.

And of course, he had to walk down a dark alleyway to get to his apartment this night. Yep… Great… Great job he did. He was coming home from work though, there is nothing he could do. And he had tried to get out of going anywhere today, but his boss needed him…

So now, here he is, stuck in the darkness with only the lamp post light to see what’s in front of him. Needless to say, his tail was so curled up around his legs and his ears so far back he's certain they’ll start forming into his skin. And he was shaking. Trembling really.

Taking deep breaths to calm himself down he just continued on, he can see his apartment building not too far away. He can do this… Come on…

That was until a sudden loud bang came from behind him. Jumping so far into the air he screeched then hissed at the sound, going onto all fours. His tail fluffed up in defense and he bared his teeth, his jacket flapping behind him.

However, when he saw two different colored eyes staring at him from the darkness all resolved disappeared like that. Gulping his hissing immediately quieted down and he ducked to the ground, his tail going between his legs instead.

But when he heard a whimper he froze.

That… That was a child’s whimper.

“H-Hello?” He whispered to the two eyes, and he noticed that they were lower to the ground. Huh… What?

“I… I’m… I…” He heard a child’s voice stutter from the darkness, then a rattling of chains. Wait, chains?! What is going on?!

“Hey… It’s okay… I’m not gonna hurt you. Can you come towards the light?” He tried to swallow down his worry and fear. This is a child, no matter what he should do something. No child should be out here.

He heard the child whimper again but slowly the kid drew closer to the light. It was a Naga boy… His legs formed together into a snake-like tail. And scales covering half his face and neck. He also had one snake-like eye…

But that isn’t what scared Virgil, it was the fact that he had chains on his hands and throat that was connected together. And the fact that he was covered in whip marks, including that he wore rags for a shirt.

What… The fuck…

“Hey… Hey, it's okay… See?” He lowered himself down to the ground and extended his hand, claws unsheathed. “It's alright. I’m not gonna hurt you. I’m like you, see?” He pointed to his tail and ears.

The Naga boy was frozen, that was until he looked between his animal-like features. Hiccuping he glanced to the ground and wiped his eyes. “Don’t… Don’t…want… Want to go…back… Please… Please…”

“Hey, hey, I won’t send you back. Can I come near you? I want to check your wounds, that's all.”

The boy instantly froze again and took a shaky slither back. He looked terrified.

“Okay! Okay…” Virgil raised up his hands, “I won't come near you. But hey, my home is right there,” He pointed at the apartment building. “Would you like to come home with me? I won't touch you and if you want you can leave whenever you want to. Is that alright?”

The child looks between him and down the alleyway. Biting his lip he seemed to he debating with himself. Until finally, he looks back up at Virgil then nods. “Okay…”

Virgil wasn’t expecting on adopting a Naga boy that day. Especially not on a Friday the 13th. But as he soon came to learn that this boy was special. He came from a traveling circus where they forced him to do tricks. That explains the chains. And why he's so scared. What he guessed was that they have other Nagas and whenever somebody realizes how much they're abusing these poor people, they high tail it out of the town. Guess this one got sneaky and was able to get out before they traveled to another town.

But honestly, he doesn’t care about that. He’s come to notice that he's become quite attached to this boy. And vows to protect him. No matter what.

Naga Meets Snow

A/N: I liked my Neko meets Naga story i wrote for halloween so i wanted to write a sorta sequel for it!

It was about a month and a half, almost two months since Virgil had found this Naga boy in the alleyway. And he certainly has grown attached to him for sure. He's still quite scared of a lot of things, the keys rattling for example. Or when Virgil raises his hands... Or the sounds of loud noises... Or well...okay...basically everything.

But, Virgil is starting to understand what really scares him and frightens him so he knows to really avoid those, and work on his lesser fears. One of his main fears is the rattling of chains and the darkness. He hates to be closed in on any room as well. So, Virgil always keeps his door opened at night and a nightlight on so he can see the room. And that seems to work out just fine.

Its a very slow in progress, but they're slowly starting to work in living together and understanding each other.

Why, just a few weeks ago Virgil had woken up in one of his panic attacks again, something he does quite frequently from things that he would rather not discuss about. And this little guy slithers in without a word and calmly does his breathing exercises. Emile and Virgil had taught him that in case he ever goes into panic and Virgil isn't there to calm him. Then once Virgil had calmed down the boy hugged him then moved to slither away. Of course, Virgil protested and picked him up to cuddle and thank him.

Ever so slowly they're starting to become like family.

The boy has even picked out a name for himself!

Dee.

He says that he liked the name and it was simple enough so when he goes to his forgetful trances it'll be a lot easier to remember. And Virgil sure isn't complaining.

One thing that Virgil has become more aware of is the temperature of the house. Normally he's fine with it being cold since he wears jackets and onesies everywhere but with a Naga boy now he can't do that. There have been a few times he's completely forgotten and he finds Dee nearly frozen to death and trying to get as much warmth as he could from the blankets in his room. It takes hours to warm him up from that stage, and he knows its hard for Dee to ask him of things so he doesn't blame him.

But now with winter right now its harder for the poor boy. He can't even open the door without shivering and his body freezing. Even though Virgil had gotten a heater just for his room and had turned up the heater really high the poor boy still was sluggish and slept nearly the entire day away, just coming out to go to the bathroom and to eat. It made him sad to see but he had looked it up and apparently all Nagas do that during the winter. He'll be okay once the temperature starts rising.

When it started snowing, however, he wanted Dee to experience it and at least touch snow for the first time. Despite hearing his protests and having to drag him out of his room to put on the winter clothes he was determined for this to happen.

"But, I don't wanna..."  He drowsily slurred.

"It's gonna be okay, Dee. You don't have to be out there for long. But it rarely snows here and I want you to see what snow is. I already have warm clothes for you to change into and hot cocoa ready when we come in. I promise it's going to be fine."

"Mhm..." Dee grumbles but doesn't protest anymore, though Virgil could tell he wasn't happy about this. Maybe seeing it will change his mind. After getting himself ready as well, making sure to keep his cat ears warm in his beanie, he takes Dee's hand.

"Ready?"

"Eh...."

"Good enough." He opens the back door leading outside and the ground was covered in snow, the pearly whites of the snow-covered the ground so now they can't see a single patch of greenery. And it was still snowing, small flecks of white falling from the sky. As he leads Dee outside he smiles down at the boy.

And he sees Dee's eyes grow wide at the sight. He was in awe over the white flecks, his snake-like tail trailing behind him and leaving a wiggling line behind them. The child couldn't even speak in his amazement and it caused Virgil to chuckle.

"You like it?"

Dee glanced up at him then back up at the sky, nodding wordlessly. And Virgil smiled, happy that Dee was happy. This is all he wanted to see. From where this poor boy came from...he deserved to experience this sort of thing. Nobody deserves to be in chains and forced to perform tricks just cause of who they are and what they look like... He's so happy that he got Dee before somebody else did... Who knows what they would've done to him...

But, he should be focused on the now. And the now was keeping an eye on him so he doesn't freeze over and watching him take it all in on his own terms.

They were out there for only about 20 minutes before Dee started freezing up, the scales along his face starting to form icicles and he knew he needed to get him warm right now. Dee was protesting now to go back inside, he wanted to be outside some more. But when he was changed to his warm onesie and given some hot cocoa he shut up, now liking the warmth it brought.

"I'm really happy you liked the snow, Dee. You want to watch Frozen now?"

"Yes, please. Then Aladdin?"

Virgil chuckles and nods, "And Aladdin."

Yeah, the boy doesn't speak a whole lot yet and is difficult at times. But this Neko loves this little Naga with all his heart. And he'll keep him protected no matter what.
