Ok but Isaac all but ordering Nelli to move into his posh safe house in the pent house of the most ritzy hotel in Hollywood. Nelli and Isaac BOTH getting jealous over threats to the other’s attention. Hiding *something* vital behind a painting they got together in Venice. Him taking her dancing after. I ship them SO MUCH JASON PLEASE WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME

33, Victor and Nelli? :)

33. What kind of presents do they get each other? Do they only do it on special occasions?

Victor: Anything that even seems Nelli adjacent, he buys. He has a small stash of gifts under his bed (because the woman goes through his closet every week like it’s her job) that he couldn’t figure out if she’d actually like it or not. Occasionally he’ll whip one of those out just to see if he was right. He bought her flowers often in the early days. Long stemmed roses, of course, but also Gardenia when he first realized he was in love with her. Lilies when he thought she might love him back. Fragrant bouquets of Lavender and Gladiolus when news of Chaz would occasionally reach Hollywood. These days, there’s nothing she can’t afford on her own. If she wants it, she can go out and buy it for herself. He makes deals with people to get early access to new fashion. He has jewelry custom made for her in other countries. He still pops up with little gifts. Books that he think she’d find interesting. Small art pieces for her office or house. Victor typically sticks to special occasions, but that also includes album launch anniversaries. The day she started Thorn. The opening of the Maharajah. He gets her gifts for events she wasn’t even there for because she’d here now and sometimes she’s all he has. Sometimes he thinks she’s all he needs. He gets her a big gift on a day that he considers their kinda anniversary. It’s not really. It’s not like they’re together, but he still gets her something nice on the day they became VictorAndNelli instead of Victor and Nelli.

Nelli: She buys things for Victor everyday. She maintains his wardrobe on top of doing most of his interior design. She buys him suits, ties, shoes, shirts. She doesn’t seem them as gifts and neither does he. It’s just maintenance. Occasionally, she’ll make something specifically for him. Only for really important events, when they have to look their best. She doesn’t see that as a gift either, but he does. He appreciates it. Sometimes, when she goes out, she sees something that she thinks Victor should have. It’s not even a conscious thought. It’s not meant to be a gift. It’s just something that Victor should have because it’s practical (The designer watch she bought him on a random Tuesday) or because he’d enjoy it (The drone she got him suspiciously close to his birthday) The things she considers real gifts are mainly technology. Victor loves his toys. She buys him all kinds of gadgets that she doesn’t understand, upgrades his TV, and decks out his SUV’s. She gave his home theater a makeover one Christmas. Victor is a creature of status, and she does her best with that in mind. And if once a year, on the anniversary of a date to an art show they once went on, she buys him something smaller? A nice new ring, a chain, cufflinks? That’s considered a gift, too. They both know it.

This was originally supposed to focus more on the entire coterie, but during my re-watch of LABN S1 I really zeroed in on Nelli and Victor's partnership and how much both of them really hold loyalty as a core value.
