Here are my underrated favs of my fics, in no particular order:

Bringing Her Up (sambucky, WBF verse, 21k): I love this one bc of all the big emotions and intimate moments it allowed me to explore! There is something that calls to me about writing Bucky and Sam with a newborn, and I could write a million more fics about them in their first days of parenthood, discovering it all.

Stumble and Fall Your Way to Each Other (nelsonxlisa, 46k, slow burn, second person pov): This one is a fav, despite how small the fandom is. It took me two years to write, but I’m really proud of the plot and character arcs here. I think these characters, despite being based on cartoons, are the most human I’ve ever written.

mixed ingredients (clintasha, au of The Switch, WIP):

I know this one isn’t finished, but I’m LOVING writing it!!! I have never written clintasha or Clint pov before, but both are very fun and also I think I might be good at it? Stay tuned for more of this bc I’m definitely invested.

Parts of a Whole (sambucky, mpreg, HTP, intersex!Bucky, 14.8k): In my own opinion, this is probably the best thing I personally have ever written. A lot of that is thanks to incredible beta reading from @lies-unfurl @livingincolorsagain, Niol, and a whole bunch of other people. Also, I wrote this and then let it sit unposted for a month before the Summer Trash Splash. When I reread it before posting it, I made some final edits that it’s definitely better for. All in all, thematically and emotionally, I think this is my best fic.

you’re havin’ my baby (what a lovely way of sayin' how much you love me) (stony, mpreg, 14k): This is another fic I just had fun with. It flowed out of me in a way few other things have, to the point where I was writing it in parking lots in the five min I would have before I went into work, just to get my ideas written down. I like that I went a little bit more crack-y and comedic than I usually do and I think it works here. This is a fic I definitely wish got just a little more attention.

Bleeding Glass and Healing Needles-community, brittaxtroy, 6k

Britta is forty-two. She should be past the point in her life of worrying about her boyfriend getting her pregnant. Yet, here she is.

This ship has hardly any fics and very few fans, so this never got much hype, but I’m still pretty proud of it. I think I really managed to capture the characters’ voices and expand on their dynamic. Also, I’m really proud of how I handled the abortion in this fic, with significance but also acknowledging that people can get an abortion and be fine after.

Not Our Time-mcu, sambucky, multi chp, 50k

“Shut the hell up,” is what Sam says when, on Sunday morning when they’ve barely had a cup of coffee each and he’s frying up their eggs, Bucky tells him he’s pregnant.

HYDRA has left a lot of remnants of their work in Bucky, mental and physical. One of these being a functioning uterus.

This fic, as far as I’m concerned, is my best fic. Just in terms of the plotting and emotions and character arcs. I really loved being able to write about something innately human and also something that so many people suffer through in silence. I had a commenter who had experienced a miscarriage tell me it helped her process the experience and that will always be with me, that my work could be that meaningful to someone. (Also it is the reason we have the whole Wilson Barnes series so yaaaaay)

Bringing Her Up-mcu, sambucky, multi chp, 22k

The first month of Mila Darlene Wilson-Barnes's life is entirely unexplainable. It is every emotion happening on top of each other at once. It is joy swallowed by fear and embraced by quiet awe. It also very messy, occasionally baffling, and sort of gross.

Sam's just trying to figure out how to help.

This is actually probably my favorite fic in this series! I just really love the feelings I got to write about, and also the way I got to deep dive into Sam and Bucky’s relationship after Mila’s born. And the amount of baby fluff I got to write! Omg!! It took a lot of research and asking my sister in law what newborns are like, but it was worth it. This fic is sweet and warm and really intimate, and the one I reread the most often of my own works.

Stumble and Fall Your Way to Each Other-the simpson, nelisa, multi chp, 46k

You keep going back to her, like a boomerang. All your life, there she is, Lisa Simpson, pulling you in and pushing you out.

This fic was pure passion. I knew I probably wouldn’t get a lot of attention writing for this ship/fandom, but I still really wanted to write it. Also, it was an experiment for me because the entire fic is in second person. I’m proud of the character arcs in this one, too. The journey I took Nelson and Lisa on to be the people they needed to be for themselves and each other took a long time to plan out and a lot of reworking, but I’m pretty happy with the end result. Also the background Bart and Milhouse stuff is really cute.

Lie Back and Think of America-mcu, sambucky, multi chp, 9.5k

Sam wants to have sex with Bucky. Bucky wants Sam, period, and powers through. Neither are all that happy with the results.

The thing about this one that I really like is Bucky’s internal dialogue, especially during the shower scene. I devoted a lot of time to researching SA recovery and I feel that is shows in how Bucky processes the whole situation. Also, I’m glad I made Sam his own person in this, with feelings on the matter outside of Bucky’s.

Will you ever write more Nelisa fics? I’ve read yours so many times now and I never get tired of it, I love it so much!!! They’re such a great pair with so much potential it makes me sad the lack of fics for them

I don’t currently have any Nelisa stuff in my writing schedule, but I’m not opposed to writing them again eventually. I’ve been considering writing a sequel to Stumble and Fall Your Way to Each Other that is centered on Bart and Milhouse, with sprinkles of Nelisa, so maybe look out for that!
