"and..." the iphone camera flashed one last time as you spoke, the light bouncing off renjun's delicate features, enhanced with slight make up, "were done!"

you stepped back from him, being his personal photographer always had you stepping too close to him, and somehow, it always left him as a silent, blushing mess.

Renjun softly took the phone from you, with a silent "thank you" that hung in the cold, but barely noticeable air. He swiped through the phone as your mind wandered about how warm his fingers felt as they brushed against yours.

"Oh, these pictures turned out nice!"

he looked up to you and beamed, patting your cheek. Maybe he didn't intend to do that, because he snatched away his fingers, a hot blush settling on his cheeks. You felt your palms slowly turn sweaty in your pockets as you swallowed back a giggle.

"you're welcome, Renjun."

he awkwardly coughed, inching out the bathroom, with you following him out. "and, uh, thanks for not making the bathroom... obvious."

"oh, yeah," you have him a smack in the back as you laughed, startling him a bit. Why is he so jittery all of a sudden?

"I considered turning the water tap on, but your fans wouldn't be ready for that yet, would they?"

Authors Notes: i'm testing out the little picture header things at the top lol but i think i wrote this back when i was studying for midterms? if you can't tell 🙃 anyways i hope you like this!!

[20:25] You sat down in the seat, huffing slightly as you put down your heavy backpack and pulled out your notes and laptop, ready to cram for your upcoming exams. The library seemed to be even more occupied today, which made sense since everyone was trying to cram their month's work of lectures into one day.

Opening your notebook, you tiredly rubbed your eyes as you attempted to revise your notes for your up coming exams. Half an hour had passed, and you slowly felt your eyelids drooping. Propping your head on your hand, you decided to close your eyes for a moment to refresh yourself. Not even a minute into taking your mini break, you heard someone pull out the chair across from you.

Your study partner, Mark, sat down and placed a coffee cup in front of you, giving you a small smile as you thanked him before pulling out his own notes from his bag.

"Need help?" he asked, laughing lightly at the way that your notes were scattered around the table.

"Yes please." you said, your head dropping in defeat as you looked at the various concepts littering your notes. Mark softly laughed and arranged your papers neatly, ordering them from the first lesson to the last one.

"Hey Mark," you said, causing the male to softly hum in response.

"Thank you." Mark looked up in confusion, furrowing his eyebrows while tilting his head sideways.

"For what?"

"Everything. For helping me out with my work, for never getting frustrated at me when I ask you excessive questions, basically anything you can think of." Mark softly laughed and looked at you with a fond look, before looking down at the stack of papers that were piled up on the table.

“Of course. It’s the least I can do for you.”

[12:25] "Y/n!" you heard from one of the rows in the lecture hall, causing you to turn towards the source of the sound. You saw Haechan sitting in one of seats, waving you over to join him. You to smiled and waved back at him, walking over to where he was sitting.

"I didn't know you were taking this class!" you exclaimed, giving him a small hug before setting your backpack down.

"I changed my schedule last minute so I'm in this class now." he said, pulling out his notebook from his bag.

"Nice! That means we can study together!" you said, smiling at him. He smiled back at you and turned around, only to spin back towards you and tap your shoulder excited.

"I guess you could say that we have chemistry together now." he said, wiggling his eyebrows up and down comically while giving you an expectant smile. You sighed, giving Haechan an exasperated look.

You had a long semester ahead of you.

hyuck barged into coffee shop, yanking off his mask and running towards the counter towards his best friend. Y/n stood startled, holding a broom in the middle of the soon to open coffee shop.

"y/n!" he said, the evening winter sunlight seeping through the glass windows onto his features, "it's gonna be okay! Summer is coming!"

"what are you on about?" she rolled her eyes and continued sweeping behind the counter, their voices were the only noises bouncing around in the empty cafe, "put your mask back on!"

"give it few more months," he said, standing straight, "it's all going to be normal again."

"huh?"

"didn't you see the news?" he pulled out his phone and stuck it to her face, "just a few more months, were going back to normal!"

she squinted her eyes at the screen. "were going out of quarantine..?"

"yeah!" he said, "by the time it all disappears, it'll just be in time for summer!"

"hyuck," y/n laughed, placing her broom to the side, "you're too excited for this."

"of course I am!" he folded his arms, "do you know how hard it is to resist the urge to hug you?"

"how romantic~"

"no, I'm serious!"

"imagine going back to normal," she laughed, "it'll be so weird."

"I could get used to it," he smiled, watching her start up the coffee machines. "uh, whatcha making there?"

"boba," she sighed, clicking her tongue. "let me guess—"

"a mango slush with little tapioca, please!"

she rolled her eyes at him. he was like a human sun in the cold, empty cafe, beaming waves of positivity at her. she locked eyes with him, and let out a defeated sigh, the corners of her mouth tugging into a smile.

maybe hyuck was right. maybe it's time to cheer up, to forget the past and move on.

maybe things were going to be alright again. maybe summer was truly on its way.

and then jisung's alarm went off and he gotta run

a/n : hehe felt the urge to write it after seeing those pics up there in my Pinterest feed

frolicking about in the fields, prince donghyuck watched you curl your fingers delicately around the flower petals, eyes skimming over the bees and butterflies roaming the air.

he strolled next to you, flaring his chest up.

"what a day," he inhaled the strong perfume of the flowers, "eh, princess? you seem like you are enjoying this afternoon."

you rolled your eyes, gripping the hardcover about fairytales in your hand as you stood to your feet.

"your majesty," you smiled, eyes stone cold, "please refrain from using the charming nickname you have given me. I am not royalty."

prince donghyuck knew he must have stirred up a storm inside you, and he was surprised; this was the quickest he's managed yet.

"royalty doesn't define worth to me," he leisurely muttered, eyeing the flowers, "and, I must say, the hibiscus are blooming terrifically!"

"thank you," you courtesied, preparing yourself to walk away, "I grew them myself."

he watched you walk off towards the royal stables, the bottom of your dress splashed with mud and thistles and thorns, dandelion fluff sticking in your hair. he smiled to himself, and called out, "and while you're at it, blossom the bud of warmth in your stone cold heart, too!"

"sir," you only called back, spinning on your heel, slight panic filling your voice, "we mustn't interact, I am not your equal."

he knew you were right. How can a subject and a ruler be the same? there was no way, so maybe, just maybe, he should stop trying.

donghyuck only stood, watching the wind blow around in the day, watching the clouds move around. He sighed, blinking at the sun.

that was, unless...

"well, would you like to be?"

"I beg your pardon?"

"I'm saying," he sighed again, this time, it seemed as if he was rather hesitant, nervous almost, as he continued, finally showing a softer side to his piercing brown eyes.

"would you like to experience being equal?"

"how on earth would that be possible, your majesty?"

he scoffed a little at the name. He knew you meant it out of respect, but it always did something to his princely little heart when you spoke like that.

"let me introduce you to a thing called love, your highness."
