yn and renjun were sitting on a bench, overlooking a field of flowers. this was the place yn had insisted on going, and renjun, being the lovesick fool he was, of course agreed to anything she said.
“this is for you.” renjun placed a plushie on yn’s lap while her attention was still on the flowers in front of them.
her gaze shifted from the flowers to the plushie. It was shaped like some kind of orange. after squishing and inspecting it for a moment, she finally remembered what it was.
“is this Darwin from The Amazing World of Gumball?” she quirked an eyebrow in amusement. But before she could say anything else, renjun continued.
“I know it’s not exactly romantic, but it kind of reminds me of someone. Slightly chaotic, a little bit unhinged, but cute. very cute,” he said, gently petting the plushie.
his words made her blush. somehow renjun always knows what to say to make her feel all fuzzy inside.
“I love it so much!” yn screamed dramatically, holding the plushie up in the air as if she had just received a priceless treasure.
“I would’ve given you flowers, but I figured it wouldn’t be as special, since I literally have a flower shop.”
“renjun, you CANNOT be serious right now. You could give me a rock you picked up off the ground and I’d still treasure it so much I might turn it into a pendant,” yn exaggerated.
renjun laughed, his eyes turning into little crescents, something yn had always found incredibly endearing.
“listen…” there was a pause. he reached for her hands, absentmindedly playing with her fingers. The slight tremble in his hands didn’t go unnoticed.
“can I be your boyfriend?”
his heart was beating so fast he wondered if she could hear it.
yn, on the other hand, was too busy trying to calm her own racing heart to even notice.
“YES, RENJUN. you can. I’d love to. and no, you’re not going too fast. we’ve literally been married in my head for three years now.”
“oh," he laughed. "so am I still the passenger princess in this marriage"
