Heya! Thank you for your interest in the fic! So to answer your question, it's kinda yes and no? You see, Usagi is Leo's childhood friend who taught him much about sword fighting (things Draxum isn't much proficient in). After so many years together they are already almost like an old married couple wefawefwfe There are certainly moments that could be interpreted romantically BUT I want to focus on Usagi as a character and I don't want to force the ship on anyone so I keep it open. The fic will continue to have interactions between those two plus the whole fam, which I hope you will enjoy =) If you are looking fo Leosagi content that focuses more explicitely on the romance, I have written some of those as well. Like this three-part winter camping rom-com and I recently started this apocalyptic mercenaries-to-lovers fic. And I'm sorry you are currently sad, whatever is going on in your life right now, I wish you happier days ahead!

"Nobody makes better corn syrup flurries than you, Mr Wishbone," Mushy says admiringly.

Gil Favor shrugs at the cook pointedly hands him a flask- he's been overdoing the caffeine slugs, it can't hurt to try something a little less strong for a change. Day's work is done.

Not bad considering he has a thousand cyb-cattle, twenty five ragtag drovers, and a robotic ramrod to worry over.

Rowdy swipes one off the chuck wagon's levitating drink tray, drinks it down with evident gusto. "I got a lead in town about something special, if anyone's up for a trip tonight."

"Last time you said such a thing, I lost all my savings at laser pistol whipping," Jesus says dubiously.

"We got the money back, though."

"Only because that scary woman blew up the whole casino! Dios, I don't want to go through that again."

"Well, if you don't want to see a real, honest to god cow in the flesh..."

A sudden silence falls, leaving only the crackling of plastichip bags burning. Pete breaks it with a snort. "No such thing."

"There was a poster with real-time holos. It was real enough."

It's on the tip of Favor's tongue to agree, to say it must have just been a cyb-cow with the green photosynthesis layer scraped off the hide, maybe painted white. He can't bring himself to do it, though- not looking at his ramrod being so keen, hopeful, a little want-to-lay-credit-on-that smile and absently scratching at the cybernetic implant under his shirt.

Sometimes, Gil thinks, he just doesn't know how he'd stand the days without that idiot.

"Well, if Rowdy says it's so I'm willing to have a look at it. But we can't all go and leave the cybs unprotected...so we'll take it in shifts, two at a time." He smiles the dry, harsh smile that's become his. "Wishbone and I will go first."

If the damn thing really is a fake, he can count on the cook to back him up on saying it was rustled before they ever saw it.
