Because of every other person and child who is not safe.

It was a whirlwind 48 hours that began with thousands of young people taking to the streets of Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, in protest and ended with iconic government buildings smouldering and the country's prime minister cast out. 

The dizzying speed with which the country's younger generation toppled Nepal's ruling government, using social media sites such as TikTok and Discord to organize, is still something those who were calling for change are processing.

An upsurge of anger in each country was powerful enough to bring down the ruling government, and social media played a key role in organizing the protests and quickly disseminating information about each government's initial heavy-handed response.

New No Kings protest on 10/18 and a reminder that you can always change your government by lighting the current government on fire. If people in Nepal and elsewhere can do it, the only thing stopping Americans are a mix of complacency with the current system (sure it's bad, but it'll change eventually if we let it sort itself out) and fear (understandable, if a lot of us lose our jobs, we're out in the street within a month, maybe less), so calling for a general strike is...trickier than it might seem. We can't have a revolution if people are too busy fighting over the scraps they need to live. But also, that's usually when revolutions happen, when folks finally stand up and say 'Enough.' Change doesn't happen overnight, usually, no matter how handy that 'Weeks where decades happen' quote from Lenin says (it is, sometimes, correct, I'll give that to Comrade Vlad).

In Nepal, young activists burned down parliament, forced the prime minister to resign, and toppled the regime. In Paris, the "block everything" protests shut down roads and wrangled with police today. In South Korea, the right-wing (Youtube-corrupted) president was ousted and tried for his coup attempt; in Brazil the right wing (Youtube-empowered; thanks Google) former president is still, I believe, on trial for HIS coup attempt; Syrians recently overthrew the Assad regime after half a century of authoritarianism; Indonesia, reports PBS, "has been rocked by massive anti-government demonstrations. The protests are led by students, workers and women’s rights groups angered by the yawning gap between Indonesia’s elites and shrinking middle class, and turned violent after a delivery driver was killed amid a police crackdown."

We are not alone in opposition or oppression. I do not think the senescent systems of power can be overthrown as easily as they have elsewhere, and the sheer scale of the US makes it a different case, but take encouragement from this resistance and don't stop on ours. There is no precedent for what we must do but that does not mean it's impossible. No Kings is October 18th.

Anarchy has taken over Nepal. Gen Z protesters have been burning people alive and even attacking Pashupatinath temple. Why do all mob violence anarchies turn anti-Hindu in the "South Asia"? Rest in peace to the innocent civilians in Nepal, who lost their lives due to their governments negligence and ignorance.

It is however good to see that the people have taken their power back, and I hope that the future will shine bright for everyone in Nepal.

It's nice having heroes that aren't diluted by the both sides nature of needing to sell product. If your character is standing against injustice, they can't just let injustice happen when it's done by the right people. We need more heroes, especially when half the internet are sending thoughts and prayers to a dead fascist
