Headcanon for recent homestuck updates!!! (spoilers)

I was scrolling through the homestuck tag, and I saw some posts concerning about what John was doing and the point, and the changes and shit. Okay, so, the change where John took the Witness, it (supposedly) stopped Terezi from recruiting because she was searching for the witness. The first troll she talked to after the original events was Nepeta, possibly postponing or stopping the cat girl from joining.

In the fixy-thing where John places the Witness at Tavros' 'crime' scene, it stops Terex from kissing Tav, stops Gamzee from having TZ's glasses. By Gamzee not having the glasses, Karat can actually talk to Terezi, not Gamzee. That of which changes the plan of Equius going to stop Gamzee in the original events. Which saves Equips ****Nepeta****

So I think that part of the point of sending John back is not just trying to help Terezi find the right killer (Gamzee instead of Vriska), but also to save Nepeta.
