I need you to know that I’ve found you two completely separate times. AGES apart!!!

First time was the full hetalia post in all its glory on my dash, which I cackled at, reblogged, and scrolled on my merry way. Don’t even ask me when this was because it coulda been this morning or last year, time is a construct.

Second time was JUST NOW when someone I follow reblogged batfam fanart from like 2021 of yours and I dug deeper and started scrolling your blog for that sweet sweet fanart and started uncovering hints of a post that went viral against your will only to be met with the full post in all its glory, completely blindsiding me as I did not retain who the op was of the hetalia post in the slightest and also I was reminded that it exists at all.

A luxury you’ll never know again from the looks of it lol

Thank you! I am up to an official total of thirteen (13!) things I can eat safely without inducing a reaction. That’s ten more things than I was able to eat this time last year. It would be 14 if I included brown rice, but my body struggles to digest it so I tend to avoid it unless I have no other option. It is a huge improvement and I am so happy.

One of them is really high in histamine (spinach) but considering I don’t eat a lot of other high histamine foods (like say, tea or chocolate, certain fruits, or red meat) my body is tolerating it well and I’m actually managing to get the nutritional value out of it, which is awesome. So I’m getting there, slowly but surely I’m getting there :)

I remembered because it was fucking dumb and lacking in basic reading comprehension. Whenever a post of yours shows up on my dash, sometimes I realize oH SHIT I HAVENT SEEN A JOY POST IN AGES IS SHE OKAY???? And you seem like you ARE okay as in your body hasn’t had a catastrophic meltdown in awhile. I’m like... really relieved that you’re some level of okay or like stable or what have you. And I know it’s trying to end you, but I’m really looking forward to reading Phangs when it comes out💕

I’ve been quiet for a while because I am attempting to focus a lot of my time and energy on both work and healing. It’s amazing how much time being well and healthy takes, not to mention energy, but I’m slowly getting there.

The mishap with my ribs at the start of the month (I injured myself in the first week of October and didn’t really realize until I made the injury a lot worse... cause what is a pain threshold?) has set me back a good few weeks, and this month in general, is just hella stressful, but I’m still coming on leaps and bounds from where I was several months ago.

I also, uh, made the terrifying decision to give up editing and focus entirely on my writing. Primarily because I can’t get into my editing inbox. It’s just been spammed to death so many times it’s not even worth paying for someone to filter through it anymore, but also because I need to make a choice between what I use my energy for; writing my own work or helping others with theirs.

And as much as I enjoy working with people on their creative work... it’s just not possible for me at the moment. So... I’m now relying on my own creative work to keep the lights on so uh... yeah. I’m terrified. Terrified and getting ready to produce a whole bunch of new content. But hey, you know what they say, when life hands you lemons... write a lemon :p

I’m eyeballing that Eowyn Challenge so damn hard.

My mother’s screen name in the day was Ranger Jewel. She had the idea, Karen Wynn Fonstad contributed the cartography and helped her write the journey, and some other lady they knew from the LOTR forums they frequented made the site. The whole idea was just to get more active and healthy, at your own pace and ability level. 

It was and is actually a really cool idea, and Mom is still rather proud of it. 

I think Mom still corresponds with some of her forum friends from back then. 

Also, Karen taught me how to do the map thing better when she caught me drawing my first map of Ellinon, the setting for Lady of Ice and Iron, and she was like “Oh what’s that? Here sweetie, bring that here I’ll show you how to make that look better.”

Hey Plauntie✨ I’ve been doing some research on starting a vegetable/herb garden and I was wondering what herbs, medicinal or otherwise, you think should definitely be included? I got a good idea from googling, but I trust your advice more than most of these ‘organic living’ blogs. Like... they had no warnings. About medicinal herbs. Used medicinally. In the human body. *face desk* I just wanna grow some green shit & not accidentally poison myself and my family lol (also send pats to the cats💕)

As for herbs, here’s a list of various culinary/medicinal herbs that are easy to grow and harmless. 

I consider peppermint to be absolutely a must. Easy to grow, too. Too easy, sometimes. Peppermint has the same world domination ethos as Genghis Khan. Bees love it. 

Sage is another staple, for kitchen, witchcraft, and medicinal. Bees love it. 

Thyme. I adore thyme. Delicious, and good for sore throats. Bees love it. 

Calendula (pot marigold). I use it in ointments for skin care and it’s a staple in my ‘calm the fuck down guts’ anti IBS tea. Also is lovely, and all sorts of bees and butterflies love it. 

Chamomile. Chamomile tea is my favorite gentle sedative to settle down, and it smells beautiful and tastes lovely. Annual, but if you let some of the flowers go to seed it reseeds itself readily. Bees love it. I’ve seen mason bees headbutting each other for choice chamomile flowers. 

Rosemary, but I treat it as an annual because it is a Finicky Bitch and I have never overwintered it in a pot successfully. I use it in topical pain salves (rosemary and arnica are both good for helping soothe pain when applied to the skin) and rosemary tea helps with headaches. Also, it’s delicious. Bees also love it. 

Chives. I love chives. Fresh chives are a must for any kitchen garden. 

Hot peppers. Vital in topical pain ointments, and also for spicing up food. 

Parsley. I love parsley; I’ll eat bunches of it straight up. Swallowtail caterpillars eat the leaves, too, and I always grow a bunch so the swallowtail babies and me both get plenty. 

 Basil. Delicious, and good for upset stomachs. But more importantly, delicious. Bees love it.
