Hey guess what

This blog is not active, but I did rescue it so that the URL wouldn’t change to -blog-blog-bloggity-blog-blog or something.

...I forgot to do this last night, when it would have been appropriate. 

Basically I got sick of nerdycookies being my primary blog and all the little annoyances that it caused, so I created a new blog at leahazel, which also matches most of my other usernames on other sites. I also created a new email address just for fannish things.

Hi.

You may have noticed, I'm gradually migrating to a new Tumblr account. I'm not going to delete anything from the other account, unless I someday decide to make anthologyofwhat secondary to this blog, for fic purposes. That doesn't seem terribly likely, though, because AOW is packed with years of reblogged posts that I don't want to lose, and I'm sure as hell not gonna reblog every single one of them to here.

So, if any of you wish to encourage The Austen Age Big Bang 2014, (we really need to decide on a tag y'all, I've already seen three or four different ones and we've only been in existence for a couple hours) you should prompt me for some short not-quite drabbles?

I’m sorry, I’m rather sure you weren’t intending to inspire Who feels with this one, but it’s almost the 50th and I was just watching some old William Hartnell stuff, and I couldn’t help it?  Not sure it’ll make any sense post-Special though, so I’m posting it now rather than adding it to the queue.  (Not sure it makes any sense now, actually, considering I don’t think I’ve ever attempted to write Who before.  Oops?)

She blinked at him.  

"Why do none of you ever listen.” 

He was trying to plan routes, and times, and how to get around that path, and possibly there was a bit of a knot in the timestream over there, and …

She tilted her head and her hair brushed across her shoulder and she did that thing with her eyes that generally meant she was having trouble finding words grand enough to explain how stupid she thought he was being.

That implied he’d been less than successful with his shushing technique.

Someday he’d figure out something that worked on someone. 

Probably not. 

"You do remember I met your wife in a dream thing right before everything went horribly, terribly wrong?" 

That was rather hard to forget, yes.  

"And she quite clearly listened to you as little as possible."

Well.

That was accurate enough it rather hurt, a staccato rhythm between hearts-beats.

River never listened to anyone.

"You wouldn’t know what to do with someone who listened meekly and nodded their head."

That was also accurate.

Even Susan had delighted in pointing out when he was being a stubborn old fool, back when he’d been even more of a stubborn old fool than he was right now.

But she’d only really threatened Chesterton with the scissors.  That was rather delightful, in retrospect.

If not particularly helpful at the moment.  "Stabbing someone with scissors probably won’t work."

Clara’s eyes widened, and he realized he’d said that aloud without any of the necessary thoughts in between.

"Not you, obviously."  She mouthed "obviously" at him, as if to point out how little sense he was making.  "Come along then, if you won’t be quiet let’s find us something useful to do?  Preferably that way, where I think there’s slightly less chance of dying?"

She nodded that time.  At least she agreed on that part of The Plan. Not dying was good.
