DANTE SPARDA

always picks the worst/unhinged dialogue options bc he wants to see what happens

starts laughing if it ends up with people getting mad at each other, bonus points if they start fighting for real

"Ooooh no, he didn't like that! OH SHIT, HE PUNCHED HIM! GET HIM!!"

refers to every protagonist as dude, regardless of gender or species

adores mariokart. gets waaaay into the motion controls and nearly destroys the living room coffee table

sits behind you while you play and narrates everything to piss you off. makes a big deal when you mess up to tease you

VERGIL SPARDA

he says games are a waste of time, but once he finds one he likes he will memorize every mechanic almost instantly.

huge fan of strategic games. his favorites are fire emblem, civ and mahjong. mahjong counts right?

loves playing mahjong online with other losers and beating them. however is sooo annoyed at all the fan service in mahjong games. he likes playing riichi city but had to turn on the family friendly setting and only plays with the default character.

hates RNG. avoids gachas like they are the plague

you normally game in the living room while he sits next to you reading a book. if you start to get emotional over the story, he will arch an eyebrow. he ever so slightly leans into you to comfort you

you definitely notice and give him a pointed look. he sees you staring, but keeps his eyes focused on the book. but damn him, you can see a little smirk form in the corner of his mouth

pretends like he isnt paying attention but definitely is. gets invested if the story is really good

makes a surprisingly good partner in coop games. he'll act annoyed but will carry you anyway lol

teaches you how to play mahjong so you both can play

you love it when he explains things to you

whenever he catches you staring lovingly when he explains the rules to you, he blushes a tad and his eyebrows kinda raise in surprise. but its sooooooooooo subtle.

he catches himself pretty quick but you dont miss it hehe

NERO SPARDA

loves horror games but jumps at EVERYTHINGGGG LOL ITS SO CUTE

screams like a bitch honestly

gets weirdly competitive about mario kart. he will not hesitate to obliterate you with blue shells but he'll give you lots of smooches after to make up for it

always wants to name his character something stupid.

"I'm calling him Boob lord" (he would name a pokemon this)

teases you if you get flustered over flirty game characters

"Is your face red?? Oh my god, it is, are you serious? You're gonna fall for that? It's so corny!"

thinks he can do better hehe gets a bit jellyyyy

loves couch coop. will sit way too close and will flick u in the forehead if you cause him to lose

4. Best Places to Kiss on Their Body

Definitely cheek, nose and hand smooches. And if you’re really feeling up for it, try and smooch his Devil Bringer every now and again. As powerful and handy as it is in battle, poor Nero still has more than his fair share of insecurities about it; from how it makes him stand out to how it’s basically an outright constant reminder that he isn’t, nor will he ever be, entirely human. There’ll always be something separating him from the rest of human society (not that he entirely minds it, but it is still something that bothers him from time to time). So showing that this doesn’t change how you feel about him and that you accept him for who he is with even this simple little display of affection is definitely a big comfort for him, although don’t be too surprised if he ends up becoming an utter flustered mess because of it.

5. Guilty Pleasures

Okay, but look, just here me out on this one.

As I’ve mentioned before with another headcanon of mine: Nero has a very lowkey love for anything particularly cute. That being said, one of his guilty pleasures is definitely keeping a secret stash of small, adorable ass plushies. They don’t necessarily have a specific theme or anything to them, but rather they’re just little cute things he’s picked up on his travels, typically getting one for Kyrie and himself half as an excuse for buying them and because he likes picking up little gifts for her every now and again. There are even times where Kyrie’s made for him over the years. Most of them he keeps are usually on the smaller side, making them easier to store with the occasional medium sized one once in a blue moon. Some of his personal favorites are little key chain plushies Kyrie made of them as a kitten and bunny.

7. Tickle Spots

Particularly around his sides, stomach and underarms. Would totally try and deny this of course, causing him to become cautious in the event that someone were to try and catch him off guard and try to tickle him from behind (which has most definitely happened on at least a handful of occasions between him and his s/o). His laughter tends to come out in the form of a half-repressed giggle-snort. He tries really hard to keep it in, albeit quite poorly, in an attempt to try and brush it off. He tends to get quite pouty about it whenever he loses and it gets pointed out. Though, that being said, try not to be too surprised if and when he tries to get even.

11. Bad or petty habits

I mean, aside from his usual foul mouth, he has a bad habit of biting his nails, especially whenever he’s deep in thought about something that’s particularly bugging him. He also has a bad habit of letting his tiredness and overall laziness to get the better of him. Often, he’ll either forget about these things or simply repeatedly putting them off till later, regardless as to whether it’s making his bed, doing the laundry, taking out the trash. Then of course there’s his habit of being rather stubborn when it comes to asking or admitting he needs help, wanting to prove himself instead (Wow, it’s almost as though he gets it from a certain someone...).

13. What gets them flustered?

Any kind of affection beyond what he’d normally allow. Nero isn’t the kind to go too far in showing affection in public beyond maybe hand-holding, wrapping an arm around you and maybe a small peck here and there. Anything beyond this tends to catch him off guard and cause him to blush....a lot. This can also be applied to compliments, especially if it has to do with Devil Bringer. He’s kinda insecure about it, despite the power it provides him with. It’s mostly due to it’s appearance and the amount of shame and embarrassment he’s had while growing up, hence the purpose of always keeping it in a sling whenever in public.

NERO SPARDA

you've been gone for a huge part of the day, so he starts looking around devil may cry for you. he finds you at your desktop looking VERY engrossed with what you're doing

doing his best to not alert you, he sneaks up behind you. it seems a cute video game has caught your attention, and you're playing dress-up...?

"Wait, each power lets her use a new dress? How does she change so fast?"

thinks it's ridiculous at first, but similar to Vergil he gets weirdly addicted to helping you pick the best scoring combinations

unlike Vergil, he is not very good at it. but he will try his best

"Okay okay, go with the lace gloves, TRUST ME. It's tagged as elegance which is what you need."

like dante, he is convinced he knows what he's talking about, but definitely gets pissed every time his outfits don't work out

"What the fuck, this is impossible! I thought this game was for babies!"

no nero, this game is not for babies. you need to lock in.

one day, you surprise him by coming home in an outfit eerily similar to one he had made for you in the game last week.

gets very visibly flustered when he sees you model it.

it suits you incredibly well and is very tailored to his tastes, since, well, he was the one who made the outfit after all!

he saves up a bit of money and takes you on a shopping spree. he must see you in more outfits

side note but i feel like he would go crazy if he saw you wearing black high heels. he loves black on you

"So it's like dress-up... but with boss fights? Kinda kickass if you ask me."

he tries to help you pick an outfit but always makes the WORST combinations EVER. the outfits colors never match and he makes you wear ugly boots with a pretty dress or something lol

is convinced he is a master fashion designer

"Look at me, I'm adorable as hell!"

not really too interested in the game itself but he likes seeing how into it you get. you get very invested in the story and he finds it adorable. you have a simple heart and he loves you for it

asks you to show off your outfits

"C'mon, spin around. Pose for me, dear! ...Oh yeah that's very nice, I quite like it honestly. You've got some talent, huh?"

sometimes he thinks about how cute you would look in pastels and gets a bit distracted. his brows furrow, a soft blush dusting his cheeks as he hides a smile behind his hand.

with his mouth covered, it actually kinda looks like he's grimacing, which is hilarious. he'll often start daydreaming about you and get flustered. others will see him and think he's pissed off because of the tense expression. if only they knew about the big smile that was hidden behind his hand

VERGIL SPARDA

he does not understand why you are stressing about losing a "style battle," whatever that meant

he stares at your screen with his arms crossed.

"So foolish..." FOOLISHNESS, Y/N. FOOLISHNESS----

watches silently. secretly enjoys watching you get worked up over something so silly

you ask him for styling advice and using the clothing stats, builds you the most min-maxxed outfit for the style battles. quickly learned the numbers have to do with if you win or not. however, he somehow manages to make them also look gorgeous at the same time (IF YOU PLAY INFINITY NIKKI YOU KNOW HOW HARD THIS IS). he does it to make you happy since you hate ugly outfits

after a while, he gets kinda into it

"No, that shade of mauve does not go with the rest of the outfit... Even the most untrained eye would know that a lady's shoes must match with her bag."

YOU STARE AT HIM....

he looks to the side and walks away.

damn him!

secretly makes a note to buy you a cute ensemble to wear to your next date

he will get rid of the price tags and fold them into your drawers so you happen across them

he will never admit he bought it but you know it was him

he enjoys being with someone quiet and kind since everyone in his life treats him otherwise. he is always having to act tough, and he gets tired... just wants to be loved, fully and tenderly

he appreciates how carefully you treat him and how attentive to details you are

if he's having a bad day, you two will sit on the couch with one of his arms in your lap. you will trace little circles and shapes around it wordlessly and wait for him to relax. eventually he'll open up. your patience means the world to him

or sometimes he'll be SO pissed off when he's ranting, you get so worried. you decide the best course of action would be to plant a big ol kiss on his forehead. he stops in his tracks immediately, blinking wildly. His train of though gone, and it honestly brings him back to earth and out of his head

loves hyping you up when you go out and you get dressed up nice

its not an intense "hyping up" but just loves drowning you in compliments

if a hair is out of place, he'll use his left hand to tenderly tuck it back where it belongs. he doesn't seem to realize it makes you swoon EVERY TIME........my hearttt

touches you like you're made of glass. he is unfamiliar with intimacy. his hands are so used to being use to hurt (they're so rough and calloused) so he's afraid he might hurt you

loves it when you sit on his lap and having you close. tucks his nose into the crook of your shoulder and breathes deeply, doing his best to memorize your scent

if you can't sleep, he'll run his hands through your hair and sing to you. he's not very good but it's gentle, and it's him, so of course you love it. knocks you out every time

you always wonder if one day he'll say something about it. you’re sure he's heard you at least once. but no, he never does mention it

"Nero, I'm so proud of you." he holds you tighter, but never says a word. but just know it means the world to him, and your beautiful words have brought him to silent, heavy tears in the middle of those nights without you ever realizing.

in general, if you ever compliment him, he'll look away and his ears will turn red

however, whenever it's the other way around and he is complimenting you, he is ENTIRELY confident

but don't get confident confused with being a flirt, because i don't think he is. it's more that he is earnest. he wants you to believe what he says. most compliments are given with total eye contact and with the utmost sincerity. he doesn't shy away from telling you his honest feelings and is very up-front

whenever he's out on a mission, he'll always wonder what you're up to... are you bored? lonely? maybe even thinking about him, the same way he is about you now? it makes his heart squeeze in his chest

has a heart attack if you wear his shirt but doesn't say anything in fear of making you self-conscious, but you catch the way his cheeks burn whenever he looks at you

loves kissing your hand

you never raise your voice at him, and surprisingly, he never does to you, even when he's mad. he would rather leave wordlessly and calm down than direct that kind of aggression towards someone so undeserving of it

if you get nervous in large crowds, he'll rest his palm on the back of your head (under your hair, if it's long) and softly rub small circles your hair as you walk. His breath tickles your ear as he leans down...

my god though, he LOVES banter. he's very used to it, so banter is very familiar and comfortable to him. of course, he wouldn't want to be butting heads all the time, but having that back-and-forth would be fun for him!

if you're bickering with him sometimes he'll kiss you to shut you up

to tease him, you might compliment him in front of his friends/family

night time is probably his favorite time. you both are normally too exhausted by the day's events to bicker lol

he adores cuddling you. keeps his chin on your head, and you let him drape his body over you. makes you feel so safe.

☾ - sleep headcanon(s):

Dante:

Will sleep on and/or in just about anything in just about any position. In a chair, on a couch, a bed, at his desk, in a car, on the ground, on the roof, on a park bench, etc. Dante is like a cat when it comes to sleep: he does not care.

Most likely to get up in the middle of the night for a midnight snack, otherwise known as whatever leftover cold pizza he has stored away in the fridge.

Definitely sleeps a lot more than his twin in comparison (the man loves his afternoon naps), and a much more of a deep sleeper.

Again, really loves taking naps. Tease him all you want about it, nothing’s more relaxing than a nice long afternoon nap. (Same, Dante, same)

Has a habit of napping with something like a magazine on his face, though whether it’s to keep out any incoming light out of his face or to hide the look on his face from a recent nightmare is up for debate.

There have been a number of instances where he’s recalled a number of memories of his childhood, usually starting out pleasant before turning dark and twisted before becoming a nightmare. It’s very rare for these dreams of childhood memories to remain pleasant and not become a nightmare.

When he does have these, he’ll try and shake them off shortly after waking up. If you’re his s/o, it’ll likely take a while after getting into your relationship before he’ll open up and talk to you about it.

Vergil:

He rarely sleeps all that often, and whenever he does, it’s typically not for too long, just enough to restore enough of his energy before moving on.

Vergil strikes me as the kind of guy who sleeps on his back. This way should someone try to attack him (or prank him *cough* *cough* Dante *cough*) while he’s resting, he’ll be able to get up and defend himself however that need be.

Just about always sleeps with Yamato within arm’s range.

Typically a fairly light sleeper. Chances are to get around a sleeping Vergil, you’re going to have to be quite, and I mean, QUITE impressively quiet, if not dead silent, and that’s all assuming he somehow isn’t able to pick up on something being wrong or noticing your presence.

That also being said, he does quite lowkey enjoy his moments of sleep, so it would be highly recommended that you don’t wake him up or interrupt him unless you absolutely 100% need to.

And whenever he is woken up, he’s not exactly happy about it. As if he wasn’t grumpy before, honestly.

Nero:

Prefers to sleep on either his side or his stomach and will most likely have his arm devil arm hanging off the side of the bed or couch when he does.

Also a pretty deep sleeper, though not quite as much as Dante.

He tends to toss and turn a bit, typically becoming restless due to his devil arm and the occasional pains and reoccurring stiffness depending on how much he’s used his arm earlier that day.

He typically likes to sleep in a pair of sweatpants and/or loose t-shirt, depending on how hot it is. If it’s too hot, then he’s usually just shirtless with a pair of sweatpants or shorts.

Also a slight drooler, although if you were to try and mention it, he’ll totally deny it. (We see the evidence on your chin and pillow, Nero, no reason to be embarrassed ;)).

Usually keeps Blue Rose or Red Queen within a fairly close proximity whenever he sleeps, Blue Rose usually resting either under his pillow or on the nearby nightstand beside his bed or couch.
