Got my first emg nerve test today.
If you can ever avoid it, do it.
It was not the most painful thing I've experienced. More like- extremely uncomfortable.
But not fun at all. And I have no clue how long I'll be sore for.

W and Nerve Stimulation Testing
Went through nerve stimulation at the doctors today. Had to lay on a table and have electrical impulses go through my neck. I asked W if he wanted to feel what it felt like since he had mentioned being interested in the electrical nerve stimulation before. He declined at first. I got the sense that he didn’t want to go through nerve pain or feel like he was being springlocked again. But he hovered close and was using a clipboard to take notes (clearly interested) so I offered the idea of him channeling through just enough to observe it, not necessarily to feel it. He liked that, so I brought him partially through.
After cautiously testing the waters, he stepped through more once he realized there was no pain. In fact, he sort of “tsked” and muttered something about the fact that it wasn’t nearly as strong as he suspected it would be. He experienced the stimulation test enough to have some thoughts about how he could use the technology, ultimately deciding that he would rather design something where a tool could be inserted directly into the skin in order to stimulate the nerves from underneath. He enjoys the idea of being able to control a person from far away, with the specific requirement of the person being fully aware that he’s doing it.
I have a theory that he is somewhat fixated with nerve pain and having items shoved into the body due to his physical trauma.
September, 2022
I just found out I have L4 and L5 radiculopathy as per my EMG
(via https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiRbRVuYz9w)
Today hasn't even started and I'm already 1000% done
I have to get an EMG nerve test today which if google is correct basically means I'll be getting electrocuted and stabbed with needles on head, neck, and arm. Then I have to go shoe shopping for my sister's wedding which is fun for most girls I know but my Cerebral Palsy makes it difficult and sucks all the fun out of it. Then I have to go help my mom with the grocery shopping. Kill me now.
At the neurologist's office -
Nurse: He wants you to come back for an EMG.
Me: What's that?
Nurse: A nerve test.
Me: What does it entail?
Nurse: It looks at your nerves.
Me: Well, alright then.
I have a nerve test/conduction study thing on July 3rd.
Cool.
I have no clue what that is.
Had my EMG this morning. Cried a decent amount. Then drove to school from there like a champ. Now my leg is relapsing by twitching and tightening up. If you do not know what this is, you should look it up. Not pleasant.
