This rule from A Pilot’s Purpose is not the first of its kind, but it is part of my attempt to bring the grid-based tactical game into the 21st century.

In A Pilot’s Purpose, the tactical game is only complex enough to sell you on the stakes and drama of the social game. Whenever the tactical game stops supporting that other half, we stop playing it!

If there’s one real contribution this game can make to the TTRPG space, it’s probably Downtime Cards! But the above attitude keeps everybody on the same page about why we’re playing. A Pilot’s Purpose has tactics and you can absolutely min-max your mech to pull off crazy combo. But the game isn’t ABOUT those things. Important distinction!

I forgot how much I hate EMGs and specialists. I had to do ANOTHER strength test, which always hurts my body because my joints are unstable and tight. They also just casually shoved needles in both of my arms (not where the doctor ordered it) and shoved the needles in harder when I made a "this hurts" face.

Got my first emg nerve test today.

If you can ever avoid it, do it.

It was not the most painful thing I've experienced. More like- extremely uncomfortable.

But not fun at all. And I have no clue how long I'll be sore for.

i had an emg done yesterday. it was like torture but i was rly brave and i finished out the whole hour long exam. Half the time he used this prod thing with two metal ends to zap the fuck out of me after he stuck a bunch of sticker nodules on me to take the reading of my nerves and muscles. The other half? He stuck a tiny needle in me all over my lower body taking readings while wiggling the damn thing inside me looking for the right nerves/muscles. I only cried once 🥹 it hurt. So much. I slept most of the rest of the day yesterday. I'm very sore today.

hey fellow disabled people in my phone i have to get an emg relatively soon as someone with a tremendously low pain tolerance for anything besides my baseline just . scale of one to ten how much is this gonna suck

Anyone have any advice on or even just experience with an Electromyogram (EMG)?

I have one at 1:00 PM (central time) tomorrow, and am kinda nervous.
