I passed The Shard about ten days ago and looked up. When I previously passed, that building next to it wasn't there. London's skyline is changing all the time. There were a couple of small cafes and shops in that building's footprint and I remember loving seeing the skyline as I went up the outdoor escalator to the upper level of London Bridge station. They're all gone. I took this photo sometime during Lockdown 1. I kinda lost my photo mojo during lockdown, hardly surprising when I was indoors for 47 days. Going to try to do better this time round. It doesn't surprise me we're going into #lockdown2 The UK government messaging has been appalling, leading lots of people to believe they don't fall under the mask wearing recommendations and guidance. But here's the thing, vulnerable people, people with disabilities and underlying health conditions still exist. That magically doesn't go away. We all need to be a little less selfish. As someone with an autoimmune disease, I'm glad lockdown is happening. It currently feels like Russian roulette every time I leave the apartment. Early morning, Villiers Street, London. Occasionally, the city is quiet. But there's still a sliver of time when day workers and day sleepers overlap, both shuffling along, one trying to wake up, the other winding down to their slumber. I went to bed early last night, thanks to a bout of plane lurgy, so I'm a few hours behind on this. Here's a colourful wall to brighten your day and someone at the corner to brighten up mine. I often wonder how street artists feel about their work being tagged over / scribbed on by other people. I took this one in Brighton a couple of weeks ago. I love the colours and am in awe of the time and patience it obviously took to get all the geometric shapes and 3D effects just right. I would be so peed off to see names tagged over this if I was the artist. Anyone know who actually did this?
