𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 | @bigfernand_uk were once open on Tottenham Court Road a few years back. A French burger restaurant aiming to make it in London. I visited back then, probably around 2015, and I thought it was okay. I remember the patties being quite small in comparison to the bun, and not necessarily memorable in quality and taste. The restaurant did end up closing maybe a year or so later, but now they’re back in South Kensington. I hate to say it but I don’t think much has changed, to be honest. The bun still outweighs the patty massively, and the meat just gets lost. The beef itself was pretty well done, which was a shame as there was some testing going on from what looked like the owners or management on the table next to us, and their patties were perfectly medium rare. The actual taste of the burger was good, due to the cheese. This burger was Le Raclette, by the way. Raclette cheese, bacon, caramelised onions, chives, and homemade bbq sauce. I just wanted more from the beef, with a burger patty or smaller bun. As I remembered last time about the size issue I did ask if I could double up, but they don’t have it as an option. I do wish Big Fernand all the best with their 2nd stab at cracking the London burger scene, but I think there’s some work to do. . . . . . . #bigfernand #cheeseburger #baconcheese #burgers #southken #southkensington #kensington #bacon #frenchfood #londonburger #foodporn #beef #burger #foodphotography #foodphoto #burgerphoto #londonrestaurant #burgerporn #baconburger #baconcheeseburger (at Big Fernand London) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8oKCWrn-W0/?igshid=ddi94o2w3dvr
