‘ don’t come in here. ’
house of broken angels prompts . accepting . @gentlesavior
❝ alden… ❞ a sigh follows knuckles tapped against the door, not one of frustration but rather one that came along with the feeling of helplessness. for three days she’d prepared herself for the worst: for the discovery of his rotting corpse somewhere. the spectacle that the whisperers made at the gates of hilltop was a shock that reverberated through her whole body; with that knife to his throat she swore that was it, but they let him go. thoughts alone enough to make her stomach turn, the man that came back to her was alive, yes, but so broken letha wasn’t sure there was any chance of getting him back.
she knows at least, that she cannot push him. that regardless of her desire to hold him and tell him that everything was going to be okay, even if it wasn’t, she needed to stay strong for him. she needed to give him the space that he needed to heal, to comprehend what happened to him and luke with the whisperers, to come to terms with the fact that he came back and luke did not. letha would give him space, but would always be one word away.
❝ i’ll just stay here and wait, then, okay? come out when you’re ready. ❞ knees hugged close to her chest, letha rests her head back carefully against the wall behind her.
