What real friends feel like

for whatever reason i find discussions of braces & aligners & such sort of. “““triggering””” i guess. not that i think this stuff is evil or whatever but that it sets off a very unpleasant bodily reaction in me. not seeing a person wearing those (that’s fine) but specifically like people talking about them. i have not made this anybody else’s problem & am not going to, but for whatever reason discussion of these things makes me start internally shaking like a small dog

#saying things #never had them #i think i had a formative moment where i was reading an interview an american journalist did with a cool guy i’d met. & the american #journalist spent several words on how bad looking the guy’s teeth were. which i on meeting him had not paid any attention to whatsoever bc i #am at least on this front a normal person. & i think americans in particular have this insane & disgusting obsession with how teeth look #which i find more revolting than most other things. this is not why discussions of braces make me feel bad though that’s some other thing
