Fun fact about me is I like falling asleep to d20 but usually the darker campaigns (literally and figuratively, like Neverafter or Mentopolis) bc they tend to have darker color palettes and keep me awake less which does mean sometimes I'm falling asleep and I tune into what's happening and it's "the face of a divinity you never believed it" or "the briars eat thumbelina" and SOMETIMES it's "grandma your ears are honking big" or "piss stew" and SOMETIMES it's "I met death and death wanted me to live" or "Do you try to go towards the castle and the dogs or do you sray safe at the pond" and every time it catches me completely off guard as I'm blissfully reminded why Neverafter is one of my favorite campaigns

I want to like City Council of Darkness so bad but I just don’t.

As a D20 fan, I wish it wasn’t sandbox. The open world of it all makes me feel like we’re just putzin around killin time. And the show needs some actual combat. Yea episode 9 had SOME but like. Cmon. I miss full party combat.

And as a VtM fan?? They shouldn’t have done this system. None of the character abilities have been properly explained. If they’re going to play vampire I wish they’d done it with a darker tone. Horror like Neverafter. The goofiness is just a bit flat for me.

I do love the humor they’ve had and the characters they’re playing, but the whole season so far (as of episode 9) it’s just missing something. The show hasn’t clicked for me yet and this late in the game, it probably won’t. TBH I’d love to know if anyone else shares this opinion
