To be here was simple enough, but his plans required further action. Why could William not have hired him out to a different sect of people, rather than anti-religious maniacs? Greyfiel had no choice, though; being the little-known Nobody did not come with the perks of choosing where the orders came from, nor did he get to decide who it was that he was supposed to kill. At least this time he’d gotten to settle upon his own choice of weapon - in days past, he’d had to deal with whatever method of killing they chose. The assassin loved his knives, but this was a distance shot, and it was impossible to throw a blade from this far away with any chance of it hitting its target.
The bullet tore through the air and hit the pastor’s sternum, shattering it on its way to penetrate the heart. At least he no longer believed in any sort of god, but he still felt somewhat uncomfortable going through with this kill. It was not as though this man was a bad man, but he’d been marked for death.
Quickly, Grey packed up his sniper rifle, picking up the empty shell before heading out of the room. As he made his way down the emergency stairwell, the sound of footsteps echoed, but they were not his own. Immediately, he froze, glancing up and down the steps to see who else might be there. The police could not have been called yet, not that quickly, so the question remained: who was there?
