A fake dating au where Neve gets a job from the shadow dragons to help escort a slave and their lover out of minrathous but the slave is a former Antivan crow from an old house that still kills crows for failing contracts so Neve and rook pretend to be the crow and their lover so they can take the heat off of the actual contract and figure out what went wrong but now they have to act couple-y in public and neve is terrified by how easy it is to fall into this routine with rook and rook knows this might be their only chance so they go the whole nine yards and tries to be the perfect partner and they accidentally fall into love.

Rook sprinted through the streets of Minrathous. These gods have taken so much from them - Varric, Davrin, Assan…

Neve.

Rook had to see the two that were left fall. They winced as they stepped over another blight tendril. Ever since Elgar’nan got himself comfortable in Minrathous, the blight had gotten worse - more alive, somehow. They had lost track of their companions a while ago. The whole city was in chaos. They had to get up to that floating palace fast.

As they ascended the palace, the blight grew thicker. Darkspawn were more active and they were getting harder to fight off, especially alone. As another hurlock fell to their swords, Rook panted heavily, blood and ichor splattered across their face before wiping it off with a huff. All that was left was whatever monstrosity was behind that last pile of blight sitting on the throne…

Neve Gallus was…that wasn’t right - she wasn’t Neve Gallus. But she was. The Neve Gallus that was fighting Elgar’nan, the one who would’ve rather died than bring this death and destruction to her city wasn’t there anymore - not completely. But parts of her remained. Small flickers of the woman passed through her blighted form from time to time. Even as the city was being swallowed by the blight, it never got close enough to a fish fry stand. An ex-Templar’s new office. A shop with a hidden entrance. Things that were important for reasons she couldn’t entirely remember.

She felt that same stirring within her when the blight surrounding her was cleared, the bright crimson light of the eclipse shining on a small, redheaded elf. Black and red eyes locked onto bright green, their expression filled with shock, confusion, happiness, and a deep sorrow, all at the same time.

“Neve?” they asked, immediately tearing away at more of the blight. That voice woke something up in the blighted mage, something that had been slumbering since being taken through that mirror.

Hunger.

While a good portion of Neve had been corrupted by the blight, she was still conscious enough to know that this panicked looking elf was hers.

In an instant, blighted tendrils erupted out of the ground, wrapping around Rook’s arms and legs and holding them in place. Rook’s startled gasp was cut off by another tendril wrapping around their face and covering their mouth. Their green eyes were so wide. Neve could feel their heart racing so fast. A sly smirk slowly creeped onto her face, so familiar to the rogue, but there was a sinister edge to it that scared them. They had never seen Neve look at anyone like that.

Two more tendrils came out of the ground to start tearing at Rook’s clothes, effortlessly peeling away the light armor like it was nothing more than a nuisance blocking her path to her prize. Rook’s shouts were muffled by the tendril covering their mouth, their struggles against their binds completely ineffective. Within moments, the wide-eyed elf was stripped bare.

Neve felt her hunger grow, roaring in her ears as her red eyes raked over their lithe form. The way they squirmed, their pale skin flushed an alluring shade of pink, sent shivers down her spine. More tendrils sprung out of the ground and focused their attention on Rook - smaller ones caressing, not restraining. The elf blushed a bright red when one gently brushed against one of their ears. Their breath reflexively hitched in their chest. The fire in Neve’s blood grew as her grin widened. Perfect.

The blight trailed lower, dragging down the elf’s neck and towards their chest. Rook squirmed to get away at first, eyes wide and panicked, but their binds didn’t give. Neve had them right where she wanted them. Two small tendrils gently caressed Rook’s breasts, circling their nipples as they hardened to stiff peaks. Black and red eyes followed the pink blush as it started to spread.

More tendrils slid over their thighs, spreading them wider apart. Rook squeezed their eyes shut, burning up as the cold air hit them between their legs. Neve hummed in satisfaction when she saw that they were already wet. Rook was still struggling against the blight holding them in place - whether it was to move away or get closer, not even Rook could confidently answer that.

Finally, a tendril slid through slick heat, making the elf gasp against their gag. A shiver ran through Neve’s body at the muffled sound and the tip of the appendage slowly circled their clit. A small part of her still remembered this feeling, those sounds. This tiny thing was definitely hers. She wanted more.

Rook cried out, arching their back and squeezing their eyes shut as the thick tendril slid inside of them. Their face turned bright red as they felt that they were wet enough for there to be hardly any resistance. They wished so badly they could blame their restraints or the blight or anything else for how they whined at the sensation, but Rook knew with a deep pit of shame inside of them that it was all them. Neve’s smirk widened, a predatory shine to her teeth. In an instant, Rook was face-first on the ground with the tendril slowly pumping in and out of them. Tears pricked the corners of their eyes, but any muffled cries of protest slowly morphed into desperate moans.

The blight coiled around their neck loosened, allowing the elf to take a frantic gasp for air. Their face was pressed into the ground, bright red as moans and sighs of pleasure escaped their lips as the tendril inside of them started to speed up. With each thrust, the appendage dragged along their clit, sending warm shockwaves through their body. Another tendril easily slid inside of their ass, a third sliding into their mouth as they opened their mouth to cry out.

As their eyes rolled back in pleasure, Neve smirked and relaxed back onto the throne. Elgar’Nan had his own requests, his own control over the blight, but Neve Gallus never gave in so easily. He could never have this. This was all hers. Her black eyes softened as a tear slid down Rook’s cheek. Oh yes, this was hers.

Hey 👋🏻 just wanted to say I loved your fics, especially your Stolen Moments, and The Covert Crow Case fics, the dynamic between your Rook and Neve is amazing. I just finished reading Stolen Moments yesterday, but now it’s got me curious about how the reunion between your Rook and Neve went after the whole fade stuff with solas and if anything would be different between your version of it and the games version. I would have commented this sooner but messaging people is a bit intimidating lol.

Oh my god holy shit this is so insanely nice I’m actually screaming over this.

I left the reunion out of stolen moments for a few reasons. One, it didn’t feel right with the rest of the team there. It just didn’t feel like it would fit as stolen moments was meant to be for things that happen in between the moments we see in the game. There are a few game moments I’ve loosely rewritten, but most of those were to fit Rook’s backstory and things like that. I really wish we got to see that moment in the game tho. Rook deserves to have a breakdown after everything they’ve been through and they deserve to have their team be there for them.

As for the final romance scene, I honestly have no notes. It’s tender, it’s angsty, Neve tops the crap out of Rook, they have their first “I love you’s,” what’s not to love?

I’m really excited for where Covert Crow Case is headed. Very much an AU in terms of how things develop, but plans are in the works 😈
