Why the fuck would Tim be the first person to find out Red Hood was actually Jason Todd :|

He's not smart enough for that, and he wasn't even in Gotham during uth (pretty sure).

Plus, that just takes away from Jason giving Bruce hints about who he was until he literally revealed himself which is 100x more interesting. Its about Jason and Bruce. Not fucking Tim Drake, keep him out of it.

Just remember, If Jason is 'canonically' ugly, then so is Dick. Because they canonically look alike not only in art style (where this stupid hc comes from), but the characters saying they look similar (E.g. Donna). You can't have one be beautiful while the other is ugly. If one is ugly, they both are and vice versa.

You know what the most fucked up thing about Jason's death is?

It's that he can never get his justice legally because Bruce fucking Wayne decided to erase all evidence.

He erased Jokers involvement. He took off Jason's Robin costume so that his own identity wouldn't be revealed.

Bruce put the risk of his identity being revealed over Jason's justice.

The man who is all about 'justice getting served legally'. Yeah that would be one more thing I'd feel betrayed about if I was Jason.

Like not only did he not learn from Jason dying (allowing a kid to be a vigilante), but have said kid be in the costume HE died in. And then the fact that no one went to his fucking funeral because Bruce rushed it, telling no one about it? Allowing Alfred to put up a memorial case which has the plaque 'A good soldier' and doesn't bother to change it to son or even take it down? Having Jason's grave not in the Wayne funeral place? Basically screaming that Jason Todd-Wayne is not truly his son, but js just Jason Todd?

Not being able to do anything to the Joker because he had diplomatic immunity? Bruce literally could've just waited until the Joker no longer had any. There are literally so many ways to ensure someone like Joker never sees the day of light (even without killing him) and it simply isn't Arkham asylum. And you'd think a man who had been titled 'the greatest detective in the world' would understand that when a rogue escapes an asylum for the nth time this week, it obviously DOES NOT WORK. and therefore you have to look at alternative options. They don't have to be held in Gotham for fucks sake. But no. Joker can't be charged with the crime of killing Jason because Bruce erased all evidence that would link the Joker to the crime.

So yeah, what's one more fuck up? Not having justice served for Jason is good because otherwise Bruce's identity would be at risk. And his identity is more important than getting his 'son' justice apparently.

So far I've read two fanfics where the author basically uses Barbara to shut down Jason's grievances with the joker being alive by basically saying 'Do you think you're the only one who has suffered? Get over it like I did."

I need your thoughts on this.

I for one, do not like it.

Like yeah, Barbara is another victim of the Joker, whatever she thinks is valid in her own right. But using her to dismiss and invalidate Jason's trauma?

Not everyone gets over something traumatic. I’ve said this before, but people respond differently even when they experience the same event. Not every victim can easily get over their trauma, and it sure doesn’t help that Jason’s never actually got support to help him process his.

Making Barbara say get over it just feels shitty. Because would she say the same things to a different victim? To just 'get over it' because "oh look, there's been other victims, you're not special" or "you’re just overreacting and have no right to feel that way". It just feels insensitive and it doesn’t matter if this is only fanon or canon. It’s bad either way.

Sure, Barbara has managed to move forward, but that's her, she isn't Jason. And Jason is Jason, not Barbara, just because they're both victims of the Joker doesn't mean they'll react the same and doesn't invalidate either of their reactions.

These fic writers probably used Barbara as a way to make it seem like Jason's overreacting to all the traumatic experience he had because of the Joker. Because who’d be best to say such things than another victim?

If it was anyone else (who hadn't been a victim), then they would be called out on it, because they wouldn’t know what it’d be like. But when it's another victim saying it?

It downplays Jason’s trauma making it not as severe as it was (because he literally got beat up real bad and oh I know! DIED, he died ffs that isn't something you can easily 'get over')

And this can lead to secondary victimization (essentially, the cjs, social services, the public and etc, further victimizing a victim by responding insensitive, dismissively, or blaming them - which is where victim blaming comes into play).

Man Tim fans should really just come out as being a Tim fan instead of a Jason fan. Like as soon as you say you're a Jason fan and then immediately say "but I feel bad for Tim cause of how horrible Jason was!" your opinions are invalid in my eyes. Like you can't say you like a character and then hate them for smth that's not even canon (fuck fanon).

If you like a character, embrace what they did wrong, love them for the shit they did. Like, I love Jason and IDC if he beats Tim up. Actually, he should do it more often with the intent to actually kill him and succeeding. Like ik morally it's wrong and that it's bad, but do idgaf? No. Because I like Jason and lwk would react way worse than Jason if I was in his shoes. Therefore, Jason should go back to before utrh when he had his morals and didn't compromise to fit in w/ the bats.

And honestly (cause I don't use tiktok I dunno how bad it is) but Instagram has mainly bad takes where there's so many Tim fans disguised as Jason fans and it's so annoying. Like bro, just admit ur a Tim fan. And idk, maybe other Tim fans would be happy to talk about him with u?? Honestly the fact the Bruce is so fucking hypocritical. Idk if this is just fanon or also canon, but,

Telling Jason that being a vigilante isn't a game, while also treating it like a game himself. Like, he says he (as one of his reasons for not killing the joker) that killing the joker would be playing into what he wants, how he shouldn't let joker win the game, but like ???

Who fucking cares if Joker wins? He'd no longer be able to harm anyone else, he'd no longer create thousands of victims.

And if you say "Oh but Bruce would never be able to come back from it!" Or smth like that, stfu. I don't care if it's Bruce who does it or anyone else.

Bruce refuses to let anyone else kill the Joker, and at this point, he's not only letting people become victims, but he's choosing to make them victims.

And then he has the audacity to say they can't be Judge, jury, and executioner, when that's exactly what he's doing? He's judging criminals to be worth rehabilitation and therefore, are essentially more important than the fucking victims??? He somewhat chooses who is guilty or not guilty, he literally made it so that the Joker couldn't be held accountable for the death of Jason Todd (by removing any evidence that would convict the Joker), he beats up goons and criminals before handing them to the GCPD yes, but he's also essentially killed someone intentionally (KGBeast), he fully did that of his own free will.

And the audacity to push his morals onto others.

Like no, it's not enough to understand his morals and accept that he has his own set of morals. Instead, he has to push them on to others, condemning them when they don't follow it and idk if just... If DC wanted to make Batman like this, and least have him hold accountability, have him be faced with the consequences of his actions, show that his actions have caused X, y, and z.

The fact the fans call and make Jason call Tim a kid (despite being two yrs younger max) is bullshit. Because Tim when he's 16+ is not a kid. That's an adolescent/teenager. A youth, yes. But not a kid.

And they talk shit about Jason beating up Tim, 'trying to kill him' cause Tim's a kid and so on.

But what about Jason? Because depending on ur hc ig, Jason dies at age 12-15, which is a child or adolescent depending on ur countries definition of them ig. And yet people are gung ho about Jason beating up Tim because he's a 'kid' and not Jason dying as one or a newly grown adolescent :/

If anyone should be called kid, it should be Damian (when he's there). The actual fucking kid, mind-blowing, I know.

I feel like the problem about the bats, and why I don't think they'll ever truly get along with Jason, that they won't compromise themselves for Jason.

Jason is the one that has to change if he wants to be in the family.

All the bats can talk about how they want Jason to come back home, but with conditions on Jason's end. They just won't acc pt him otherwise.

They don't bother to do anything to mend their relationship either or at least genuinely, seeing things from Jason's end. Why Jason does the things he does? They don't bother to think why.

Like it's so obvious (to readers at least), that Jason has become disillusioned by heroes and the justice system, he no longer believes that they're useful/efficient, that all it's doing is perpetuating crime, because criminals are getting if scot-free, not facing the consequences of their actions that have massively impacted innocents lives. And that's why, he kills/killed people, because sure it's not right, but it works (although realistic it's more short-term), whereas the bats methods doesn't as much.

And despite this, the bats do nothing. They parade around saying they want to stop crime, but violence only breeds more violence (and yes this does also apply to Jason). Even if they are helping Gotham ad citizens (e.g. health care, giving jobs, donations to charity, whatever), it doesn't seem effective. Plus Bruce puts uses more money for his vigilante scheme than actually helping people (imo).

Like crime occurs in places with poverty, that's basic crime 101 (increase in poverty/inequality = increase in crime rates), and yet I don't see Bruce trying to do anything to help Crime Alley change back into Park Row. What I do know, is that Batman only visits the place once a year and is just throwing himself a pity party (he visits on the day his parents died - ref to when Jason first appears post crisis).

Like they just can't understand Jason, can't see where he is coming from (I would say that Duke and Steph are the one who's most likely understand). But the things is, is that they don't even try to understand where Jason is coming from, just condemning him for killing people.

And it's not even that, like they themselves don't have to kill, but I feel like if they just understood and accepted Jason's methods are different, not condemning him, then maybe imo, they could be family. Because all they're doing is pushing their morals and methods onto a man who clearly doesn't agree, but does so anyways just to fit in with a family.
