canada is so crazy but i feel like a massive goober trying to explain this. i truly think the states looks at canada on the map and makes weird assumptions about where people are
the purple is where your eyes might land when look at the big map that says canada. the purple is also mainly empty land. a lot of the purple is rocks. a lot of the purple is tundra. there is rocks and trees and rocks and trees and rocks and water
canada actually looks a lot more like this purple. small cities and towns in the north, and the total population across that entire landmass is less than a hundred thousand people. most of us live in the “tail” of the “whale” that’s ontario, and the rest of canada is slowly catching up to their lead. vancouver and the west coast is, in my opinion, what an average person from the states misinterprets as a “canadian” and that’s wholly due to the fact that it’s easier to move north to south and work in hollywood than it is to move west to east and work in toronto. trickle down effect. anyway the island way on the east end of the map is also canada but if you visit there and have no context of canadian culture you will think you are in ireland okay bye thanks for reading my thought vomit love you
