(Part 2/2) All this to say, as life keeps moving forward with all of her minutiae, beauty and banality, people keep showing up and letting you know, you are loved. You are not alone. This feels wonderful. Their love buoys you and makes life itself feel intrinsically meaningful. Beautiful. Hope filled. Which brings me to my good news: the hospital is convinced that Barry’s test was a false reading. It’s a long story, but suffice it to say, the flu shot can yield a false antigen reading in 1-3% of the population. If you are in this group, this marker will show up somewhere around day 30 and stay present until around the 90th day. At which point it falls off completely. Barry is in this group. Our previously scheduled surgery was right around day 60 something on this time line. Perfect storm and placement for a false positive. Atrium Tranplant Team has ordered new blood work for Barry on January 14th. It is our hope and belief that the antigens will have disappeared by then. Our doctor’s believe it too. So much so, that they have preemptively put us back on the surgery calendar. It’s easier to cancel a surgery than it is to add one. They won’t give us a date yet (they are waiting on the results) but they will give us a window to look towards and it’s gonna be in the beginning of February. So February is our new promised land folks. Keep praying. Keep hope alive. #kidneytransplant #hope #love #friends #newending #grateful #redemption #godisgood #lookingup #abc #gma #todayshow #kellyandryan @bteague1173 (at Ruth's Chris Steak House Uptown) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsNtXEOB1_g/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=7597krv1xv48
