I had no idea how big the bcs fandom was until recently but that's also meant I've had to find out there are kim haters and kim/jimmy relationship haters too I just don't understand how anyone could???

i feel like the fandom has grown a LOT in the last two years, but that could be a skewed perspective on my part because i wasn't on tumblr when S5 was airing, and during S1-4 i watched and loved the show so much but intentionally avoided the fandom bc breaking bad fandom was very hostile towards women back in the day (that's improved from what i've seen since the audience is more diverse now!). tbh i think the people who have those terrible takes on kim and on her relationship with jimmy are like the lingering dregs of the worst part of brba fandom - they don't understand her or the love story for the same reasons they didn't understand skyler and vilified her and thought walt was the cool badass of his narrative, no matter how much the writing proved otherwise. (i cannot with the fact that some straight men will see a romantic relationship where the woman isn't objectified or abused and claim it's sexless ughdhdjdksdhj). tastelessness. there's a fundamental disconnect in their interpretation of the show and it's not even about subjectivity - of course interpretation of art is often subjective, but they are simply wrong lol. it's so gratifying to see most critics calling her the show's defining breakout character and to know the creators themselves embrace the notion that bcs very much became a love story where she is as integral to the narrative as jimmy is. i'm glad the fandom has grown here on tumblr and we can all share insight and thoughts together in a more welcoming space! <3

there's so much about the evermore process I'd love to know about, like when did taylor realise it's another album and the overlap of her recording happiness and rwylm so close to the end and she said herself in the zane lowe interview it overlapped with her rerecoding fearless I think she said ybwm in particular, just thinking about how much did those emotions of revisiting past work influence the evermore songs and in particular happiness which was the last written literally a week before the album dropped

ahhh sorry for taking so long to get around to answering this </3 i actually do wonder if the more country-sounding evermore songs, for example, are a result of her starting to re-record fearless around the same time. or the hometown nostalgia of ttds or the self-referential-ness of coney island

I started ready contemporary romances when I got into a slump from fantasy (yes I got sucked into booktok and did not enjoy their fantasy recs) another romance I absolutely love and made me actually laugh is you deserve each other by sarah hogle it's about this couple trying to get the other one to break up with them because they're engaged but don't want to be the one to break it off, I think it's one of the best romcoms I've ever read I love it so much! I normally hate one pov romances but this one did it so well because you realise half way through she's an unreliable narrator and it's works so well! There's so much angst and I love the way everything gets resolved it's a gradual build up, just experiencing them learning to be vunerable with each other, there's so many cute moments and you really see them becoming friends again and actually liking eachother before them falling back in love it's quite refreshing

nooo booktok is horrible and should never be relied upon!! and awwww omg that sounds adorable. love some angst as well. i'm a sucker for second chance (ish) stories and that's such a good premise for a romcom. and unreliable narrators are the best bc u never know what's ~actually~ going on!!
