Starting anew. • • I had recently completed my fourth and final year of college. Which left me at a junction between an ending and several possible new beginnings. • • I had planned to stay at the same job I had, at least for a bit longer while I took my time deciding what’s next. All that was shuffled and overturned by the pandemic which forced me out of my comfort zone. • • After being unemployed for a few months, I had to start working again but for different reasons, couldn’t go back to my old job, where I had seniority. So I was forced to find a new workplace ASAP, start from the beginning and be the “new girl” again. • • It is never easy to start something new, wether it be a job, studies, relocation or a relationship. One of the hardest things is to leave our comfort zone, a place where we’ve already built an “empire”. • • Going from being a trainer to being the trainee, is never an easy transition. But you can choose to either cry over it and make it even worse, or just go with the flow and stay positive. Learn to embrace and grow from it. This transition is an experience that everyone goes through at least once in their life, and I’m glad for it, because it is a great character builder. • • As a single woman, the process was made easier, because I didn’t have to stop and consider anyone else. I could make my own choices and spur of the moment decisions, without calculating how it would affect someone else’s life. • • So yes, I don’t have a partner to “help” me through these rough times and make a decision. But I do have so much more than that, I have a strong back in the face of my family and close friend. And that is more than I could ask for. • • I know that it is hard and scary, but I truly believe that the moment we fear change more than anything else, is also when we need it the most. • • • How about you?
