I’ve always been independent and if I wanted to do something growing up, I just did it. Nike style. ✔️⁣

I never thought I needed anybody to show up with me…I was strong, capable, and could do it by myself. I never asked for help.⁣
⁣
Until one day, I realized that this mindset was NOT serving me.⁣
⁣
Just because I can show up alone and get sh*t done by myself doesn’t mean I have to!⁣
⁣
So many times throughout my life people would offer to help me out or tag along, and I’d say, “Oh I’m good!”⁣
⁣
It wasn’t until I moved back to California after doing a wildlife rehab job in Oklahoma that I realized being independent didn’t have to mean being lonely. I felt like I had hit the “reset” button on life and was really lacking a sense of community.⁣

That was when I said yes to my coach and joined my first accountability group. And now, here I am, 3 years later, still showing up daily in my accountability group full of women who’ve joined me on this journey since then. ❤️️⁣

There’s something so freaking powerful about surrounding yourself with women who want to be the best versions of their bad*ass selves right alongside me.⁣

My coach is now one of my best friends and I am blown away by the lifelong friendships I’ve made through this community.⁣

Being that we’re stuck at home (or at least making an effort to stay home), I thought I would share a home glute building workout.

I consistently post on IG, but I’m going to start posting to Tumblr as well.

Rainy recovery jog today - seems like rain is all we get these days - trying to shake out last night’s #400repeats workout, which unfortunately didn’t go very well. After a long day yesterday and some poor hydration, I just didn’t have it last night. I was supposed to do 12 x 400 but quit the workout at 8 x 400. I still felt some soreness today so I kept this morning’s trot at an easy 9:00/mile pace. That should help with better run vibes tomorrow. Back on now with my busy day.
