Did you ever wonder what it is like to read over 10,000 New Year’s Day poems entered in US Navy ship deck logs? At the Midwatch in Verse Project we have done this, and this post provides a sense of the repetitious rhymes we waded through in the process. Thankfully, many young officers deviated from these somewhat pedestrian rhymes and constructed rhymes that inspired us to read on. Please feel free to share.
