Today is the first day of the 2017 NFL Draft! Hosted in Philly this year, we thought this big day called for “a little scrimmage.”  This vibrant chromolithograph of late 19th Century football players really highlights the sport’s rugby roots. Now wear a helmet, boys.

For round two of the #NFLdraft we flash forward in time from illustrious athletes of the 1890s to sepia toned collegiate contenders of 1914. We do not know for sure which two schools are represented in this image, but the P & H could indicate Penn vs Haverford. Most importantly, it looks like they got an upgrade on the head gear.

It's NFL draft day, and around this time every year, I'm asked where I was at? The first day of the draft I went to class because didn't think I had a chance to be drafted. The second day, I reluctantly sat in my duplex waiting for a call I didn't' expect to receive. To my surprise, the Cleveland Browns called drafting me in the 8th round 216th pick. I know, they don't even have eight rounds anymore so yes I was a long shot.
