Happy National Hot Dog Day, United States of America! In case you missed the announcement from the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, July is National Hot Dog Month, and today, the 18th, is National Hot Dog Day! So go eat your favorite dog (or “wiener,” as this stamp enthusiast’s grand-mere persisted in calling them) today, or any day this month, or any day this year, and celebrate that now-uniquely American treat--chopped up leftover meaty bits from a menagerie of farm animals, encased in high quality cellulose!
