Happy World Porridge Day, world! Founded by the Scottish charity Mary’s Meals as a way to raise awareness around the world about how important a hearty breakfast is for hungry school children (and how few pennies it takes to assuage that hunger), World Porridge Day has taken the Atlantic Archipelago (and beyond!) by storm. So don’t forget to eat your porridge today - and don’t forget what a privilege it is to do so - and maybe think on famine-affected areas in the world - and perhaps shed a few pennies in gratitude for your blessings and to help alleviate others’ suffering.
