We Belong tells the story of Niall and Molly while they face the age-old question of “what are we”. The story literally reminds me of a book I would pick up at the bookstore. Susie touches on some very deep topics in a very realistic and mature way. It is not all fairytales and happy endings, it is a realistic story which makes it even more intriguing. Both Molly and Niall are in-depth characters, both with their own issues that they need to work through and get in the way. The dialogue (and sometimes lack thereof from two characters who should really be communicating more) is so perfect and adds to the story. It is a slow burn that leaves me burning for more and left heartbroken more than once while reading. I am excited to see what happens with Niall and Molly, and after the last chapter I am not too happy.
Favourite Line: ‘“Maybe she just needs support. Someone to walk through it with her. She doesn’t seem like a girl who needs anyone to fix anything for her. She doesn’t need a hero.” She doesn’t need a hero. Those words would echo in my head for the rest of the night. If she didn’t need a hero. Then what the hell did she need?’
I think this line not only sums up the story very well, by demonstrating the deep concepts We Belong touches on (but also not giving it all away). While also showing healthy ways to deal with things, and that not everyone needs to be saved by someone but they just need support while they save themselves.
I am honestly in love with this fic and I cannot wait to see where it goes! I love Susie’s writing and you should all check her out!
Story/Series Spotlight: Cake by the Ocean by @ktrsss1fics
- A mini-series about mysterious strangers, an island of giants, and that same love-hate relationship with a man-child named Niall.
- ALSO be sure to check out the start of Fergie and Niall’s story at Cheeseburger in Paradise and Passionfruit.
I don’t even know where to start with Fergie and Niall, I am literally in love with these two (currently not so much with Niall, he knows what he did). Cheeseburger and Paradise (the first story in the series) was the first Niall fanfiction I had ever read, I could never really get into any Niall story before, but Katie’s writing and the wonderful Georgina Ferguson changed that. Fergie is everything I want to be, she’s confident, she’s not afraid to speak her mind, and she has an amazing group of people behind her. Katie’s characterization is beyond anything I have read before, each character has their own distinct personality that you literally feel while you are reading.
First, we see the group in the Caribbean, then in Las Vegas, and next in Greece. In each place you experience Fergie and Niall navigate their relationship, and I say experience because reading Katie’s writing is an experience.
I was expecting happy and loved up times in Greece and BOY was I WRONG. First, a surprised guest puts a dent in the loved-up vacation I was hoping for. But they worked through it, and I thought great, time for some cuddles and love and maybe finally spilling the beans about what is going on between Niall and Fergie, but then Katie throws ANOTHER curve ball. This story literally has me on the edge of my seat every chapter, and I have to read every chapter multiple times to make sure that I have taken everything in. While the story’s focus is the relationship between Niall and Fergie, the other characters have their own story being told along the way and it makes it so interesting to read and seem so realistic.
Favourite Line: “What have I told you about calling me Daddy outside of the bedroom?” David Watson always cracks me up, but he is also everything you want in a best friend.
I’m gonna say it again but I literally LOVE this fic SOO MUCH, and I cannot wait to see where Katie’s amazing mind takes Fergie and Niall.

Day 31: Memories
do you still remember all those times?
“Yeah, now that was amazing.”
Narutolooked in the distance. Hinata was lying in the bed next to him. The last years had gone so fast for them. Hinata’s health had gone back a lot the past years and sadly, there was nothing the doctors could do about it.
A lot of their generation wasn’t there anymore. But they had to live with the moment and enjoy the little things they still had.
“Ah,” Hinata said after a short silence, “remember when Himawari-chan got married.” She starts to smile with her eyes closed. “You already started to cry when before you were about to give her away.”
Naruto laughs. “Ha, I sure do! My little girl grew up so fast… But you have to admit, it was such a beautiful moment. She was so beautiful in that dress… We sure are blessed.”
“And remember that time when Bolt became an Anbu?” Hinata said. “He even became a captain of his own squad.”
Hinata started to stare off in the distance. They had been going on bringing up memories for quite some time now. But that had only been memories of their kids. Himawari and Bolt were grown now, had kids of their own and had made it in life.
They were so happy that this life was theirs. So happy that the two of them could have experienced this together; getting together and getting married, having Bolt and Himawari, Naruto becoming Hokage. They wouldn’t want it any other way.
Many of their generation weren’t there anymore. Sasuke would often come to visit them and Sarada when he had the time – and of course visit Sakura’s grave. He still was a traveler and he wouldn’t be anything else. Ino was still – even at this age – the owner of her flower shop, but had passed on the name of Head of the Yamanaka Clan to Inojin. Kiba and Shino had passed away a few years ago, same goes for Sai and Chouji. Karui, Shikamaru and Temari were still there, even though Karui had moved back to Kumo and Shikamaru’s condition was getting worse as well.
Then there still was Kankurou who was the Village’s Elder. Gaara… well, where Gaara was, was unknown.
“Say,” Naruto said suddenly, “it might sound weird… but every time I see a full moon, I think of that moment.”
Hinata smiled. “I remember that too. I was the happiest girl on Earth.” She sighed. “I also remember your first day as Hokage. You couldn’t do a thing. Lucky for you, there were Shikamaru and I.” She laughs, followed by a cough.
“You alright?” Naruto asks concerned.
She nodded. “Yeah. If you weren’t here anymore, I don’t think I would still be struggling to stay alive.”
That silenced Naruto. Hinata never was a person that would get ill. He or the kids were always the ones that should stay home, while Hinata took care of them. And now it was him taking care of her. Himawari and Bolt would come over from time to time to check up their mom – Himawari more than Bolt, though – but they soon left after being at their parental house for a day.
“But,” Naruto continued, “the best thing that I can remember is the day when we finally said the ‘Yes’ to each other.”
Hinata smiled from ear to ear. “You don’t know how long I have waited for that day. It sure was a dream coming true, and a memory I have carried along with me for days.” She showed him her left hand, where her ring was still on her ring finger.
Naruto took the hand in his and caressed it. “And I thank you for that.” He brought the hand to his lips and kissed her wrinkly hand tenderly.
it is something i never was or am able to do, so i'm glad they do
It was in his seventh year that he realized that if he didn’t have parents, then what about his grandparents?
But he quickly forgot about it.
It was several years later that he was in a library and found a book by accident. He was fourteen and traveling with Jiraiya, visiting The Land of Earth. There in a small village’s library he accidentally knocked his elbow into a bookshelf. The books fell as rain on him and almost buried him. Tidying the books by putting them back in the shelf, he saw on one of the books the exact same whirl as that he was wearing on his sleeve.
He got up and took the book with him. He sat down on a chair and opened the book.
His family was a clan? Why didn’t anyone ever tell him about this? Why didn’t anyone tell him ever something?
He huffed and shook his head. Oh well, let’s see what the book has to read.
“The Uzumaki Clan was a prominent clan in The Land of Whirlpools. It no longer exists, having been destroyed and the rest of the survivors scattered across the world.”
Naruto didn’t know what to think. Was his clan brutally murdered and destroyed?
“The Uzumaki Clan was the clan of many great leaders. Senju Hashirama, founder of The Hidden Leaf Village and the Kage bonds, was married to a women of the Uzumaki Clan, Uzumaki Mito. She was the first vessel of the nine tailed demon fox.”
Seal… of the fox?
“The Uzumaki Clan are known for their sealing techniques, strong life force and chakra. Because of the chakra and the strong life force, they were highly recommended for the sealing of the demon fox.”
Is this why…
“The second vessel of the demon fox was-“
“Naruto,” the voice of the old man made him look up from the book, “ready to hit the road again?”
Naruto nodded. “Yeah, absolutely.”
While walking out he thought about his findings. He would have loved to read some more, maybe get to know something about his parents?
.
.
.
“Mama, can you do my hair?” little Himawari asked, running into the living room where her mom was sitting on the couch, with a hair tie in her hands.
Hinata smiled. “Of course I can do that. Where is your brother?”
“I don’t know,” Himawari replied shrugging.
“Boruto is here with me,” she heard Naruto yell from out of the kitchen.
Hinata replied with a quick “Okay!” and did her daughters hair.
When she was done, the girl turned to face her mom and said, “Say, mama?” Hinata looked at her. “Where are we actually going?”
Her mother smiled and pulled her up on her lap. “Didn’t papa tell you?” Himawari shook her head. “We’re going to visit your grandparents today,” Hinata whispered in her ear.
Himawari looked at her mother as if she had seen a ghost. “But aren’t they… dead?” she asked whispering.
“That is true,” Hinata whispered, “but don’t you want to meet them?”
“Yes,” whispered Himawari. She looked at her lap. “I want to meet grandma and grandpa.”
“Okay,” Hinata whispered again. “Well then,” she said in a normal voice, “let’s get that lazy father and brother of yours so we can go.”
Himawari hopped off her lap and hurried to the kitchen, yelling her brother’s name and papa and that they should hurry up. Hinata smiled at the sight of her daughter and stood. Their kids would be meeting their grandparents for the very first time.
While she was pulling on her coat, Himawari came in, running at her mom. “Papa and brother are coming!” Her small hands reached for her own coat and put it on.
“Good.”
Naruto and Boruto came in after she said that and put on their coats as well. Hinata smiled at her husband and opened the door to already go outside. Himawari followed her and it didn’t last long until her two boys came, too.
Naruto grabbed her hand and their kids walked out in front of them. He pinched her hand a little and looked caring at her. “How are you feeling?”
“Better than expected, actually,” admitted Hinata. “You know, Himawari was really excited when she heard where we were going.”
That surprised Naruto. “Ah, she was? That’s nice. Boruto didn’t show anything at all, as usual. But I think he was somewhat excited, too.”
The rest of the walk to the cemetery was rather peaceful and quiet. While Hinata was thinking about her parents, Naruto thought about his and the dream he had this night. The dream about that library.
How he was eager to know about his grandparents, later realizing that if that old man hadn’t disturbed him while reading that book, he would have known about his mother’s name way earlier. Even though he still doesn’t know a thing or two about his own grandparents, there was this women – Mito – who was around the age of his mother’s grandmother.
And even if he didn’t look like her at all, he was related to such a strong women, who was also the wife of the founder and first Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village – now his village.
And now was the day that his kids were going to meet his parents, their grandparents. He didn’t say it but he too was really excited for this moment.
Setting foot at the cemetery’s ground, nerves started to rise.
Boruto and Himawari had slowed down in order to wait for their parents so they could say which grave it was, and were now walking behind them.
He and Hinata stopped in front of two graves that were really close to each other.
“Kids,” Naruto began, “here lay your grandparents; my parents Uzumaki Kushina and Namikaze Minato.”
Boruto shyly hid behind his mother’s leg, and Hinata put her arm around his head. Himawari on the other hand, squat down in front of the two graves.
“Hello, my name is Himawari, but you probably already knew that.”
Naruto and Hinata hadn’t said anything about talking to them, they wanted them to act from out of themselves. And there was Himawari, doing this like the caring person she was.
It almost brought tears to Hinata’s eyes. Her daughter was introducing herself to her parents-in-law and telling her how she was doing.
Boruto slowly let go of his mother and squat down next to his sister, and simply listened to her and nodded where he thought he had to.
While Himawari was telling them about her life, Naruto pinched, once again, Hinata’s hand.
This meeting couldn’t have been any better, and he was so happy with the way his children acted. They got to meet their grandparents, even though they weren’t there anymore – something he wasn’t able to do.
i can finally kiss those lips i have been longing for
previously
A few days passed and Hinata didn’t hear a thing from Naruto.
After that day that they had spent together, he didn’t show up in her garden at all.
The only question what she wanted to ask him was why.
Now, she was laying in bed, staring up at her ceiling.
Several times had Hinata walked to her garden these past days. And all those times he wasn’t there.
But sadly, that wasn’t happening soon, she thought.
Maybe he didn’t want to see her again. She didn’t do anything weird that night, did she?
She wanted to scream out loud. This was really frustrating. Why couldn’t she act normally and just go to sleep already?!
Tick-tick.
Immediately Hinata sat up straight in her bed, clenching her covers. What was that? Calm down, it was probably just a little bird, she thought. But it’s night.
She pulled her knees up to her chest and put her arms around them.
Tick-tick-tick.
Now three times. She slowly stood from her bed, putting a blanket around her shoulders against the cold. She then carefully opened the large and high curtain to the right.
Naruto.
Naruto was standing on her balcony. Behind her window. Behind her window stood Naruto. On her balcony.
She opened the door that was hidden in her window and hissed, “What are you doing here?!”
“Sorry for coming her so suddenly, but I just had to see you.” He sighed.
Hinata stepped outside, closing the door behind her. “Why did you not come these past days?” she asked him.
The pain and sadness that was displaying in her eyes brought a sting to Naruto’s heart. What had he done? It wasn’t his intention to bring her sadness like this!
“I’m sorry I haven’t shown myself these past days. I… I just was too happy that we finally got to go on date that I, to be honest, was too embarrassed and too excited to even show myself in front of you.”
Hinata bit her bottom lip. “You could have at least left a letter or something… I thought that you didn’t want to see me anymore, which I can totally understand.”
While she was rambling on and on about her flaws, Naruto looked at her. Her beauty was again amplified by the light the moon was giving them. He was, again, amazed by the fairness of her face.
“I mean,” Hinata continued, “nobody ever told me, in a sincere way, they liked me or even showed affection to me. And here I was, thinking that you were different, that you were not like the others!”
That awoke Naruto a bit. Because she had said so in the past, too, about nobody ever saying this.
So he grabbed her shoulders. “Hinata! Stop saying these things!” He shook her a little. “I told you that I like you. You want me to say it again? I like you, okay? A lot. I like you a lot, Hinata. You need to hear it again? I. Like. You. And if that doesn’t say enough, hear this: I am in love with you.”
Hinata was quiet. Love. Nobody had ever say that word to her except for her sister or mother. And now this boy was raving these words.
Naruto saw that it wasn’t coming through yet. She kept talking and talking.
So Naruto did the only thing that came to mind.
He lent forward, still holding on to her shoulders, and gently placed his broken lips onot her satin ones, closing that had to be closed way earlier.
Hinata froze. Naruto was kissing her and she was frozen by his touch.
Naruto felt her freeze up and smiled through the kiss. He had waited so long for this moment. The moment where they would finally share their first kiss. The moment where his longings became reality.
He moved back after seconds what seemed like hours. She still had her eyes closed and lips parted from the sudden touch. Naruto grinned.
She opened her eyes and after locking them with his, she quickly looked away. Her cheeks became a light hue of pink, what Naruto found really adorable.
His hands then left her shoulders, and Hinata looked up from the lack of touch. His hands brushed over her arms, to her hands, and grabbing them firmly. She looked into his eyes and he into hers. “Do you still not believe that I am in love with you, Hinata Hyuuga?” he asked in a low but serious voice.
The hue of pink on her cheeks slowly became a shade of red. Did she believe? He was the one that brought tingly feelings into her stomach when they met. He was the one always making her happy when she was sad.
And now he had kissed her.
She slowly nodded. “I… I love you, too, Naruto,” she whispered. Her cheeks were now fire red.
Naruto’s grin became even wider. “Good,” he murmured and lent forward to again close the space between their lips, the space that had already been open for too long.
“So… what do we do now?” Naruto asked, scratching the back of his head.
Hinata bit her lip. “I do not know, unfortunately.”
Naruto sighed and let himself fall onto the ground. “I do know one thing for sure,” Naruto mumbled. Hinata squatted down in front of him, looking at him with a questioning face. “Your father can’t be aware of this, am I right?” Hinata nodded. “Alright. So, do you want to go out with me later this day?”
“Like I said,” Naruto grinned. “Okay then, I’ll pick you up, here, at half past seven and then I’ll take you out on a date.”
Before Hinata could comment, he went on, “I gotta go now, otherwise my folks will get suspicious and my dragon will start to cry.” He rose from the ground and jumped on the fence. “See ya,” he said with a wink and jumped behind the fence.
“Naruto, wait!” Hinata tried to yell, but he had already disappeared. She was almost going to yell out his name once again, but remembered that she should be silent for her family.
Quickly, she made her way through the garden and into the mansion and swiftly walked around the hall, opening her door to her room and entering it, careful not to disturb anyone in her sleep.
She got into her room safely, undressed quickly and put on her nightgown. Sighing deeply and with cheeks heating up again she got into bed.
And after a few minutes of calming down that stupid heart beat of hers, her door opened and a ray of light fell in her room. “Sis?”
Hanabi.
“Hanabi? What is wrong? Are you not able to fall asleep?” Hinata asked, sitting up straight in her bed.
The door opened a little more and now fully revealed Hinata’s little sister’s figure. “No,” she whispered, and walked closer to her sister’s bed. “Sis, were you with that boy again?”
Hinata froze. What– How? “What do you mean, Hanabi?” Why did she say ‘again’?
“I know you have been seeing him for a few times now, sis.” Hinata gulped while Hanabi sat down on her sister’s bed. “ I’ve seen you sneak out a few times, that, and you’re a terrible liar.”
Hinata didn’t respond. Every time, she had made sure no one would or could see her. She would be as silent as a mouse.
Hanabi looked at her sister. “I like him.” Huh? “And I will protect you against Dad if he’ll oppose it.”
The big sister didn’t know how to reply, and before she knew it, Hanabi had already disappeared like she hadn’t even been here in the first place.
.
.
.
God, she was so nervous. So, so nervous.
What if Father would find out? Hanabi didn’t matter anymore, since Hinata knew that the little sister was there in her room this night.
Her presentiment had been right, Hanabi knew. Why wasn’t she happy that her sister would ‘accept’ him, he of a non-elvish clan.
She shook it off and focused on the now. She was walking towards the spot where the two of them had shared their very first confession, and, on purpose, four or five minutes too late. So he would already be there. So she wouldn’t be too suspicious in front of Father and every other elf living on their estate.
She was in a more beautiful gown than she had worn to an encounter before.
“Hinata?” a voice sounded from the other side of the fence. “I discovered a hidden door. That’s lucky for you, considering that now you don’t have to jump to get over this stupid thing.”
“Okay,” she replied and leaves started to rustle, iron creaking and an opening was created in the leafy fence.
There stood Naruto, full in attire. Even better than this night. He now represented an even more image of a prince. “Ready to go?” He held out a hand. Hinata nodded and accepted it gleefully.
She went through the door and saw the world differently for once.
And before she knew it, it was already half past eleven o’clock.
The date was over. And she was in bed again.
Her light was still on. She sat up and grabbed her hand mirror, and looked in it. Her face was as red as tomatoes were when they were ready to eat.
He had shown her so many things she didn’t even know that existed.
He had shown her a little restaurant he always went to, to eat with his team or random friend he had made that day. He had shown her a flower park and picked a flower for her, and had carefully put it into her dark hair.
And he had shown her the sunset like she had never seen before.
It was the most beautiful thing ever. Normally, she would see it from out of her window room, looking at the distance.
But he had shown her a sight that wasn’t and couldn’t be magical. It felt like a thousand little sparkly fairies were shining down upon her, amazing and mesmerizing her by the wonders of the world.
They had sat together, watching the sun go down. He had slowly grabbed her hand a held it tight. She had leaned into him, her head on his shoulder.
Oh boy! Here heart began even louder to beat. She could still feel his big hand holding hers, and the spot where her had had lain onto his shoulder was throbbing like a severe headache.
She walked circles in her room. Oh, what a stupid decision had she made! How could she be so ignorant on the consequences if they found out!
She really could slap herself.
She’s an elf! A noble elf! And he… He’s a… yeah, what was he exactly? He wasn’t a dwarf or an elf… A lost wanderer, a fighter, maybe?
Well, she didn’t really care of what race he was… Because he had said he wanted to be with her whenever possible.
And now, it was one o’clock past midnight. They would meet in a quarter in her backyard. But to be frank, she was scared.
Scared for her father, what if he found out! It had been going well these past weeks, but it seemed that her sister was also onto something. This whole week her sister had been asking her suspicious questions she would never, ever ask.
Oh boy, she was so afraid!
Taking a glance at the clock, she saw that ten minutes had already passed. She should get going now. In five minutes he would arrive in her backyard, and she was really excited.
Making her way out of her room and down the hallway, she made extra sure not to be loud. So on her tip-toes she walked to the backyard, to the garden – her garden – at the end of her family’s estate.
“Naruto? Naruto, are you here?” she asked, and stood still. She was early, but maybe he was, too?
The rustling of leafs were heard and she looked up. There he was, sitting on the fence.
“Hello there, Lady Hinata.” His raspy whispering voice brought shivers up her spine. “Good to see you again. Our separation has lasted long enough. I was eager to see you and am glad this night came quickly.”
The light of the moon shone down on his face and accentuated his features perfectly. The absence of a small dragon that he was usually accompanied with, was sensible. The dragon was always so happy and being full of joy whenever he saw Hinata. Did she miss the little creature?
“Good to see you again, too. But I have some bad news,” Hinata said, her eyes standing serious. “I think my sister is onto something. I do not know for sure, but she has been asking strange questions these past three to four days.”
Naruto snickered. “I don’t think she would cause any problem, but I get your concern, Lady Hinata.”
Oh, how she loved the way that he called her ‘Lady Hinata’ with that lovely voice of his. If she hadn’t known how to be strong, she would be melting by now.
Then she noticed the way he was dressed. He was looking more formal than ever. He wasn’t just wearing his usual fighters outfit that he also wore in battle. She liked that rough side of him. But this… He was wearing a black tie over his white blouse.
“What’s wrong?” Naruto had noticed that Hinata was looking at him.
Hinata looked busted. “Oh… It- It was just that I saw that you were differently dressed than normal.”
He started to blush. “Haha,” he laughed nervously. “Well, that’s because you and I are seeing each other in secret like this for exactly one month now.”
Now it was Hinata’s turn to blush. Had he really put on such formal clothes for this.
“And that’s basically why I wanted to play dress up for once. And,” he added, “you are always the one who’s always looking at her most beautiful, even when it’s night, like now.”
“Huh?”
Naruto froze. “Ah, uhm… Please don’t let me explain myself,” he muttered. “It’s just that you always look like you can conquer the world with the way that you’re dressed, and that’s what impressed me the first time we met. You always look stunning like you’re the queen – which you almost are. Your gowns are so… so courteous and gracious, that I thought that for once, I should look like the prince who I’m not, too, you know?” He felt so embarrassed now. He had practically confessed his feelings for her.
Hinata didn’t reply and Naruto started to worry if he had said something strange.
But after a few seconds Hinata finally moved her mouth. “Never in my lifetime has anyone ever said something so sweet to me.”
That surprised Naruto. “Really? But- I mean, you’re so pretty! Didn’t ever any guy say that he thought you were beautiful?” Hinata shook her head. “What a dumbshits.”
Hinata giggled at the comment. It was true, no one had ever confessed such sweet words to her. Even though there had been a few guys who wanted her, it always turned out they would want her only because she’s the heir to the throne.
“Well,” Naruto started. “Since I already started blurting out things, I can’t suddenly stop. The truth is, Hinata,” he stopped for a second there, and Hinata wondered what he was going to say. But before she could ask what, he continued, “I like you. A lot.”
Eh?!
“Ever since we started seeing each other like this, I’ve liked you. And keeping it a secret to my friends and to your family made it even more exciting for me, and I started to like you more and more. And you clearly didn’t help me at all. ‘Cause instead of my feelings calming down, every time we met you were dressed, like I already said, like a queen. After every night we saw each other, and I was lying in my bed, I thought I was dying, because my heart was exploding.” Naruto realized what he was blurting out. “God, this is so embarrassing. Hear me saying these stupid things, what kind of man am I.”
“Naruto,” Hinata repeated multiple times when he was speaking. “Naruto, I like you, too,” she said when he finally had calmed down.
The blonde looked at her. Did he hear that correctly? “What?” he asked to make sure.
“I like you, too, dummy,” she whispered with yet another giggle.
finally counting down to the day where we will be connected for forever
six months to go
The bell of the store they entered chimed.
Her companions looked around. There was so much to see!
So pretty and so many, in different colors where they to find.
While the girls got distracted, she walked straight for the counter.
“Good afternoon and welcome to Kleinfeld. How can I help you?” the girl who was standing behind the counter asked, smiling. She wore a sweet smile and looked from the corners of her eyes at the girls that were almost ruining the dresses - somehow, it was very possible.
The girl behind the counter sat down on the chair. “That's great! And what’s your name?”
“Ah, yes. Hyuuga Hinata.” The girl locked her eyes on the screen and searched for the name.
Someone tugged her arm. “Hey-hey, nee-chan. I’m really excited to finally see your dress,” the little sister whispered. She smiled back as a response. Yeah, she was excited too.
“Found it,” the girl behind the counter said after a little while. She stood, “My name is Moegi and I’ll get your dress. Please come with me, so your friends can take a seat to wait for you while we try on the dress.” She walked in front of them, leading her companions to one of the bigger restrooms, while the girl took her to the fitting room. “Wait here, so I can get your dress.”
“Okay.”
She waited, and the waiting only lasted for a few minutes.
“Here’s your dress,” Moegi said, walking in with a big white package. “First time coming here, your dress was too big for your small figure, so Rika-san completely measured it in the right places. I’m sure it’ll fit right, now. So let’s get you in this beauty.”
Hinata got out of her clothes and Moegi threw the dress over her head and let it fall over her body.
She faced herself in the mirror and it took her breath away. “It’s beautiful…”
“Let’s show this to your friends,” Moegi said, winking at her reflection in the mirror.
Hinata nodded and pulled up her dress on the front. She walked out of the door that was held open by Moegi.
She walked in the direction of where her friends and sister were waiting. Hinata could hear ‘Oh, she’s coming,’ and the ‘woah, so pretty,’ coming from the girls.
Hinata slowly walked to the round platform that was in front of the big mirror and stood on it.
“I love it,” she breathed. She held her hands together in front of her chest. “I really, really love it.” She noticed Moegi holding something in her hands. It was a veil. She bent down a little so Moegi could put it precisely on her head.
“Oh my gosh, nee-chan, you’re so pretty!” her sister gasped.
Hinata giggled and turned around to face the girls. “Oh! Hanabi, are those tears?”
“No!” Hanabi bit back, looking away and folding her arms.
She laughed at her little sister’s reaction. “Well, Sakura-san, Ino-san and Tenten-san… What do you think?”
It was quiet. Hinata started to doubt if she had made the right choice.
“I think Naruto wouldn’t even be able to stand straight after he sees you walking down the aisle,” Sakura teased. Hinata started to blush. “You look wonderful, Hinata.”
“I agree,” Ino and Tenten said in unison.

four months to go
“Seriously?!”
…
“No, I need that room, please. In four month our wedding will take place! You guys said that the date that I requested was free!”
…
“Good business you guys have,” he said sarcastically. He was almost slamming his fist on the kitchen table out of anger.
…
“You know what, forget it. I’ll search for another place. When I become Hokage, I’ll let you know who’s the boss.”
…
“Oh? What’s that?”
…
“Perfect.” He could finally exhale. “So it will be ready on that day?”
…
“Great! Good that we could come clear about this. Goodbye, sir,” he said and put away the phone.
Someone entered the kitchen. “Oh, Naruto-kun. What was up?”
He pulled her in for a hug. “Nothing, Hinata-chan.”

two months to go
Stamping sounds of feet slamming into the ground droned through her paternal house.
“Neeeee-chaaaaaan! My bridesmaid’s dress has finally arrived!”
The door opened with a bang and a huffing and puffing Hanabi stood in the doorway.
Hinata looked at the girl that was brushing her hair out of her face while just bringing a cup of tea to her mouth. “Good to see you, too, Hanabi-chan.”
“You have to come, you have to come, you have to coooome!” Hanabi walked to her sister, grabbed the cup of tea out of her hands, grabbed her older sister’s hands and dragged her out of the room.
Hinata didn’t boggle or anything, to be honest she wanted to see the dress too. It had been an internet order, so things – like the size or the real color – weren’t completely sure to say yet.
Hanabi abruptly stopped and faced her sister. “Wait here.” She opened the door to her room and quickly disappeared.
But before Hinata could turn, the door opened again and revealed a eye-blinding Hanabi.
“This will be perfect for the wedding,” Hinata said softly, eyeing Hanabi from top to toe.

one day to go
Naruto crawled into his bed.
Things couldn't have been better than now.
Tomorrow was his – no, their – big day.
He grabbed his phone and opened the her chat.
Hey, I want to say that I’m so excited for tomorrow
Well, good night for now
You’ll probably be asleep already
See you tomorrow, Mrs. Uzumaki
And while he drifted off in a slumber, Hinata was still awake, looking at her phone and blushing deeply.
And it was the reason for that name that she couldn't fall asleep for the next hour.
