* Cliff Notes summary of Kuroda: he’s hkgk InHigh 2.0 ace assist and a climber. he’s the second year that Manami beat for the last spot on the InHigh 1.0 team. his Thing is being effortlessly multi-talented at lots of different sports in middle school, but he joined cycling in high school despite not having really done it before? because of Izumida i think, maybe? he’s middle school best friends with Izumida and resents him a little bit for being better at cycling than him for a while but he gets over it :’) Arakita also declares him a lazy ass via his Power of Smell when he first meets him and Kuroda almost gets into a fight with him lmao and hates him after that, but swallows his pride to ask Arakita how to get better at cycling, and by InHigh 1.0 Arakita is really mad that Manami gets the last position over Kuroda bc he thinks Kuroda should have gotten it :’) by InHigh 2.0 Kuroda is really Proud of his role as an assist despite being the star of all the athletics teams he was in before. a lot of ppl joke that Kuroda is an Arakita recolor bc his design is kinda similar and he can be kinda tsundere and he also has cat associations, but he’s a lot calmer, more practical and level-headed than Arakita is.
** another of Kuroda’s Things is that instead of having hard-as-a-rock leg muscles, his thigh muscles are soft and supple which makes him better at climbing (that... makes total sense??? i’m just not going to question it) and there are flashbacks in the manga to him letting random fans of his feel up his thighs and they’re all like “whaowa!
